Doc Appts

Image
Wednesday morning started with getting up and  moving, no napping.  I had two doc appts.  This is me at 7:45 am sitting at the first appt. Later in the day this was me sitting at the second doc appt at 2 pm. 1st appt was with an  osteoporosis doc. I was told over a month ago that my bone density  test did not come back on the good side of things! Well, why not, lets just add something new to  the on going list. The back is at osteoporosis stage, but the hips are still at the osteopenia stage. However, in five yrs my hip density has dropped 20 percent.  Doc wants to start treatment which is a once a yr infusion. But before doing this I  had to see an endocrinologist cause apparently at some point my blood worked showed high calcium, and indicated  my parathyroid was  causing issues.  Second doc appt., after reading my test and talking with me is convinced that the calcium/parathyroid issue is nothing to worry with. Due to gastric bypass surgery, my parathyroid is over working its self

Spindle, Fries and the Church

Image
I was back in the craft room  painting after I painted my pots.  This is a spindle. Yep, I know, it would sort of stand out in the house, wouldn't it? It was painted for the garden. I still have to seal it,  just like the pots. Then  I will drill a pole up  the bottom to insert a rebar rod. I will then  stick it in the garden. But colorful! Check out the face on my living room wall. Okay, this should be considered  price gouging, just like gas. No, I did not buy any of these. Checkers has their own  brand so I tried them. I have been buying Wally World brand but I don't like them so I am not buying them anymore.  This keeps up I am going to have to apply for food stamps. I have to say, I have painted a church on canvas but I have never painted a  church in any other form. Well, its smaller then most churches, and it actually holds bird seed. Belongs to TN Tiny Weddings, and it was in need of some love. I brought it home, cleaned it up as best as the mildew and  mold would allo

Monday on the Deck, and Painting Pots

Image
This is how my Monday started off... and it was so  nice... till this happened. MORE RAIN! I think also, I need to clean out the  airplanes! So I went inside, and  with all I had to do I decided  on crocheting. And that was not really on the list of things I need to do. But from there I went to  the craft room and painted this. I got the glasses at Dollar Tree for  a buck 25 cause I knew I was  going to paint this. And since I still had a list of things waiting on me, I decided to  paint another pot! haha These just need to be  sealed now. This is how I will add some  whimsy to the  yard. Remember the painting I did for Debbie? I had lunch with her on Sunday before her heading to NC. so  I gave it to her. She loved it. Everyone that she showed it to loves it. I am glad she loved it. I know I do! My list of things that NEED doing inside is growing and I  still don't wish to start on it.  Maybe the craft room again? What would you do? Pam

One Great Granny and the Past

Image
Ann at  https://annssnapeditscrap.blogspot.com/ told me this~   I only had one   great grandmother  too. I don't know how  old she was but she looked  pretty ancient to me and  wrinkled...lol I only knew the one great granny. She seemed to have never changed in the yrs that I knew her.  This is Great Granny, me, and my two brothers. I was about 12 in the above pic. That is great granny to the left in the pic below. Her son, Uncle William and  one of her sisters, Augusta. Left to right is great granny's sister Etta, Augusta and great granny. The pic below was taken long before I as born. It is great granny and her sons. Left to right, not sure which son that is. However, the one in the back, dark hair with the  window about his head is my granddaddy, Horace. Horace was mom's dad. The man standing in front of great granny is  Uncle William, the one in the pic shown before. And there again, the one of the  end I am not sure about. One would be my great uncle Tom and the other

Plants in the Yard, Coming Along

Image
Been watching my iris for about a week now. I never realized how long it actually takes for these blooms to pop out. Looking like this is purple! I love this next shot. I played in the yard a bit the other day with  the camera. I was trying not to worry  cause I try to keep in  mind that Crepe Myrtles are behind most things with the coming back to life in the spring. Well, here it is... my red velvet  Myrtle! Last yr I planted three Hydrangeas. Darrin up the  street works with a landscaping company and while doing a woman's yard, she asked him to take out  a BIG Hydrangea. He hated doing it cause he knew it had to have been there forever. But he took it home and  got  11 plants out of it. I took three, other  neighbors got the rest. The one below is just one that I got. This is my experiment plant. I put eggshells, coffee grounds and peels in the soil to see if it will alter the color.  Looking back on the pics I feel the itch to take my glass ball out to play in the yard again. H

Toffee Coffee, Mailbox, Crochet, and Beautiful Day

Image
I love Butterscotch  Toffee coffee but can't locate around me. But Theresa ventures  into Ky from time to  time and she can locate it there. She had me a large bag! YUM. I keep an album on my FB page for unusual mailboxes. However, I have not been able to add any in a long time. But going to sit with  Sissy the other day, I  saw this one. So cool. While I sat with Sissy I was able to finish one square and do another one. We will see if what I am doing with them works. More on that later. I was also able to turn out  another scarf, this one has ruffles on the outside. Oh my, what a totally beautiful day Friday was. 80 degrees but with no humidity.  Same for Saturday and I have a photo shoot. Here's to everyone  hoping you had a great weekend, Pam

Marie over at  https://islandmusingswithmarie.blogspot.com/ commented that I was to young to be a great granny. My mind tells me that also Marie but my body says I am past being a great granny, I should be dead! Marie, I was a granny with Caleb at 40. I thought that was too young. Now at 62 I am the  GREAT version of a granny. Course looking in the mirror I don't think I look old enough to be a great, but all I have to base that on is my great granny, she looked old and  wrinkled. haha. Darla over at http://darlamsands.blogspot.com/ said she could not believe Caleb was now a dad. Me either. I remember the day he was born! Jeanie over at https://themarmeladegypsy.blogspot.com/ said my painting of the two women on the beach made her smile. Thank you. Best compliment.  You all seemed to like the drawers I used for my paints. I have them sitting right next to my craft table. Perfect to  reach right down and since I have them in backwards, I  can see the color right off. Will not have t
