The other night I posted about what my brother Mark and sis in law Kim gave me for my birthday. Tonight's post will show you the rest of my  collection. A metal poster that my brother Mark gave me several years ago. These little dolls came from  McDonald's  Happy Meals.  My mother picked this book up at a yard sale. And yes, I read it. I have had this for over 20 years. Holds Solo cups. Unopened version of  The Wizard of Oz. My children gave me this over 20 years ago for  Christmas one year. Even my friends jump in with gifts of Oz. Sink Strainer. Thanks Theresa. The top of the strainer. Magnet. Another magnet. HAHA.... Toto in his basket! On my 50th bday the  fantastic group I worked with gave me this... and a great Oz birthday. My niece Holly got me this. I think it came from New York? Thanks Holly. Another book mom picked up at a

Wizard of Oz Collection - #1

My friends and family know that I love the Wizard of Oz. My favorite movie of all times.  My birthday was a couple of weeks ago but my brother and sis in law were out of town so they took me to dinner tonight for my birthday. Dinner and company was great. I so enjoy spending time with Mark and Kim.  My gift makes a great added addition to my collection. Wizard of Oz magnets.  And I love this. They picked this up in an antique shop in Knoxville. Two birthday cards - framed.  Thanks Kim, Mark and Holly for my gift. They have now been added to my collection. I will show more of that in the next couple of post. Thanks for stopping in, Pam

I hardly ever getting in a baking mood..... and I NEVER get in a cooking mood....   But Saturday I wanted to bake something so I decided on Pumpkin Bread.   The directions I have always gone by came off a can of Del Monte Pumpkin mix years ago since Del Monte does not make pumpkin mix anymore.   These directions will make to large loaves of bread. Or in my case, 3 small and one large.   PUMPKIN BREAD 3 cups sugar 1 cup oil 4 eggs, beaten 1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin puree (not pie filling) 3 1/2 cups flour 2 teaspoons baking soda 2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 teaspoon ground allspice 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 2/3 cup water Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Well grease and flour 2 (9x5-inch) loaf pans. Cream sugar and oil together. Add eggs and pumpkin; mix well; set aside Sift together dry ingredients; add dry ingredients alternating with 2/3 cup water to

Yesterday it rained all day long and melted a lot of the ice. Except here My porch steps! Until today they were covered in ice. And yesterday I experienced a  BUMP And  SLIDE right from the very top step to the sidewalk.... on my rear! Lucky to have not broken anything but lower back, and hips majorly sore today along with upper back and neck.  TODAY - pans of hot water and a shovel.. Hope no black ice in the morning but when I start down them, it  will be very  SLOWLY. Thanks for stopping in, Pam

This Mornings Adventure

Monday I was off for President's Day. We got hit by ICE in Nashville.   Tuesday we got snow on ice. Wednesday I was still iced in.   Today, Thursday I was heading back to work.......but on the days I was off it never dawned on me to clean off my car.   I got in and this is how it looked out the windows!   This is the passenger side window after I sweap the snow off.   And this is a chuck of ice off my trunk. Notice how thick? And this is what I used to remove all the ice, all over the car so that none would fly off and hit another car while heading to work.     Tap it just the right way and it would crack up so that I could sweep it off. Took over an hour.   Thanks for stopping in, Pam

Nashville Still Iced In - Feb 17, 2015

State Offices were closed for President's Day yesterday, but today the Governor closed state offices. So I had to go out early in the morning for pics. This is off the holly tree in my front yard. Filled this up for the birds on Saturday,  seeds were frozen in the cup  this morning. Poor birds. Monkey grass. Dakota's prints in the  snow. No plants growing here. Pretty thick on the branches. And pretty thick coming off the shed. Check out how thick it is here. My bee catcher has seen it's better days. In the garden. I love the way the ice sparkles on the trees when the sun hits it. Beautiful. It's melting! Thanks for stopping in, Pam
