Afghan Two and Three, Staying Warm

Image
Second one done.  Started on the third one. I have only done a few rows on this one. It is one I found three years ago while cleaning out moms house.  I said I would finish it but to do that, I  had to start on it.  Trying to stay warm in  Tennessee. Pam

Scarf, Gnome and Warmth

Image
Pulled off the second  afghan since I need to go get more yarn and decided to work on something else.  A scarf.  I love that color. I also made a gnome. The hidden body is a wine bottle.  Yarn braided for the  hair. A wooden bead for the nose. I had the black material and the purple felt.  Thursday night was this... ⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩ Been rainy for three days and the temp was an amazing 39 degrees at two this afternoon.  These temps are killing me.  Spring, come on, Pam

Amazing, Curls and Rollers

Image
We are coming up on year two since the tornado. I had been meaning to  take this pic all that time to share. The house in the lower left of the pic was hit. It has only been completely repaired about six months. But you see the trees, and the  building to the right of the house and behind the trees? That is our local hospital. I have found it totally amazing that the tornado ripped through the trees, hit the house but missed the hospital. To this day I am still amazed cause they are right there together. When I was a little girl my mom would roll up my hair at night.  She had these really cool rollers that  I loved. They were easy to sleep in.  I often wondered what happened to them and I  actually have looked for  something like that. The other day I found these on Pinterest.  These are almost just like what I had.  Gotta get some.  Pam

Taco Soup, Blueberry Firecrackers, Spring and Afghan

Image
Taco Soup small pack of ground beef - fried one envelope of taco seasoning one can of black beans -drained one can of corn - drained two cups of beef broth one can of tomato -crushed  (I use Rotel with chili peppers) salt and pepper Cook in crock pot on slow for about four hours. Serve with sour cream and cheese. Posted this cause Ann said she cooks in a crock pot some. If you don't like a kick then use crushed tomatoes. I like the kick. Sunday I made potato soup for James bday party but I also made James in own batch of  Blueberry Firecrackers! James named the Blueberry cake he loves so much, the Blueberry Bomb. Julie's cousin Lisa saw these cup cakes I  made and called them Blueberry Firecrackers  since they were smaller than the cake. Monday I saw the first site of daffodils, spring is around the  corner.  I decided that I would work on another afghan. It is well on its way.  Gotta pick up more yarn to get this done. Pam

Butterfly Painting, Picking and Eating Bday Party

Image
Back in Nov. I painted this for a friend that lost her sister, since she loves purple and butterflies, I wanted to put that in the painting.  I finally saw her Sunday  night to give it to her. James' (venue) bday is Jan. 30th but he likes to have his bday party later. Sunday night we had a get together. A picking and  eating together! We had SOUPS. I made potato. There was two types of bean soup. two crocks of cream of broccoli, taco  soup, lasagna soup, and homemade tomato soup....plus, chesses,  crackers of all kinds and desserts.  Lisa made homemade bread. Our youngest picker is 10 years old. He sings too. There were about 10 players there. These folks do not ever play together but it is amazing how one can start playing and the rest just jump in. I am not a picker, I don't play an  instrument but me being me had  to have some fun last night so I  took a guitar.  HAHA... overlook the pics, I  had to snap from a video Julie put on FB. Pam

Leprechaun Tree and Taco Soup

Image
The tree is decked out for the  leprechauns in  hopes they will leave a pot of gold for me! The door is also decorated. Friday I made some yummy  taco soup. Sunday found  the crock pot cooking some potato soup for James' bday soup party. I love cooking in  the crock pot. Do you cook in one? What is your fave dish  cooked in a crock pot? Pam

Pic Retake, Angels or Coincidence and My Feline Furs

Image
I am writing this post on Saturday, but you  will not be reading it on that day! Morning anyway! James from the venue posted a pic of him and his siblings on FB when young and a new one 40 yrs later. Amber took this pic below years ago and I have been wanting to retake it now. Will not be 40 yrs, maybe about 10 but I think it was be so cute to redo. That's my grandsons above. Braden who would be about 2, DJ about 3 and Caleb about 11. I really want to reshoot this for fun. I love reading all your blogs and getting ideas for mine. Thanks!! Darla over at  http://darlamsands.blogspot.com/ talked about angels in  one of her post, asking do you believe? I guess things can happen that are coincidence but they are also things as humans we might question. I for one believe in ghost, or maybe that  a love one from above can send you a message in a sweet way.  The link below is part of why I believe. https://pam-lifethroughmyeyes.blogspot.com/2019/01/mom-and-cardinal.html I have posted that

Old Pics and the Reminder

Image
Friday I was reading Ann's blog over at https://annssnapeditscrap.blogspot.com/, she posted some older pics she had taken.  Made me remember why I got into photography. With that I went  on FB and pulled some of  my fun shots. I remember taking this many, many years ago when my  niece Holly was in  school. She went to a private school all her life and was  in drama. I was at her school for a play. I leaned up next to the lockers and as I glanced down the hall I saw this amazing shot.  This is a piece is a piece my older brother purchased from the campus of a college up north. One of my fave shots next. Right after I bought my first professional camera I played with it a lot. This is one night of play. Another shot that contains  water. This is Goldie, my nieces goldfish. Shot this at the water level which gave it this great look. Loved the rust on this one. The simple look of a nail and a piece of wood. The morning dew before the  spider takes down its  web. This was a play with t
