Fibromyalgia in a Nut Shell

Image
For those that don't understand what it is like to live with Fibromyalgia.  I do have great days. Saturday was one of those where I was able to move my rear and get somethings done. I was able to clean out my winter closet and 5 bins of clothes that I  had packed and stored in the bottom of that closet. I was able to do  more cleaning, sorting and  clearing out. What was strange about that is, I could not sleep Friday night. I had to take something for the  pain and the last time I looked at the clock it was 2:30. I was up Saturday mornning at 6 and I went till 10:30 that night. If you have Fibro you have sleep issues. I also have sleep apnea but even with a CPAP machine I still have issues getting  good quality sleep due to pain. Yet on the flip side, if I can sleep it helps me deal with the pain. I paid yesterday for my good  day Saturday. I slept off and on,  more on, till 3...

Flowers/ Paint by Number Kits

Image
Yesterday Lily was laying at the  full length glass screen door watching birds play in the  Holly tree right out the door.  I grabbed my camera cause I  could hear that there was several birds out there. When I looked there were about 5 little critters out there. Looks like a baby Blue Jay. Lily was enjoying watching them play. Today I grabbed the camera again  and headed outside. I have been really lacked on my flowerbeds this summer. They need weeding so  bad. But...the Egyptian Bean plant is looking good. I was able to harvest several bean pods to dry and have  seeds for next yr.  My red Crepe Myrtle is doing awesome.  This is the first year that it  has really bloomed good. I planted it about 4 summers ago and it has really sprouted up this summer.  This is a plant a friend  gave me. I love it. It grows really tall and  takes fore...

The Printing Tray / The Free Art Drop and String Art

Image
When I was 16 I went to work at  a small family owned printing business.  I guess it got in my system. When I went back to school after that summer, I was going into the 11th grade I signed up for a printing/Graphic Arts class. I learned to set type the old fashion way, worked in the dark room,  learned to operate the camera, and I learned to run a press.  I always heard that once you have printing ink on you, it's in the blood. It must have been  cause I went back into that class, actually taking two classes of it for my 12th grade year.  From there, I went to work for the state of  Tennessee in their printing division for  21 yrs.  Years ago while still in school I picked up a printing tray, this is where metal type is stored, the old fashion way of typesetting.  I filled it with miniature items. At some point in my married life I got rid of that  tray but years later only to ...

Fall Colors/ Shopping and Lashes

Image
I went to Wally World yesterday and saw some fall clothes that have been put out.I am loving these fall colors.  I have always been a winter person with the colors I wear... darker the better. Today while I was out I decided to fun into the Dollar Tree. You can always find great buys for Holidays. Nope, I did not buy this cute little hat....haha   Or this one....but it don't stop me from trying them on. Got these all for a dollar each. I thought there were two window decorations in that one pack but I was wrong. I will have to run in there and get one more because I will hang them in the bedroom windows that are on the front of the house. The Beware sign will stick in the yard. Leaves for decorating and the cat.... I might use that for a pattern to cut more out. While walking around the store I saw this box of SOS pads...only the word Tampons threw me off and had me doing a double ...

Shot Glass Holder

Image
My daughter collects shot glasses. She informed me the other day  that she has run out of room on  her rack/holder. So for part of her bday gift... (not till mid December) I made her one.  Started with wood I had here at the house Cut 4 boards 16 inches long. Put them together making a square then with 3 boards cut to size to fit inside the frame I had it done. Nope....no pics along the way! Never think about that till its to late. With an old cloth and a sponge brush I stained it. Rubber gloves to keep from getting  stain all over my hands and a jar of Dark Walnut stain.  Painted the stain on and then wiped it off with  the old cloth. After I finished putting this together I took some thin wood I had from another project and tacked it on with my staple gun. This gives the shelves a lip so that the glasses will not slide off.  Not the best pic below but this is to show...
