Go Away, The Eyes and The Makeup

Image
A few post back I posted my porch sign that I made. And yesterday I saw this on FB!! haha Now I think I need to make some of these cause I bet they would sale! Me~ Can't wait till I can get these eye lids fixed, July 10th. I had my head tilted up so they really don't look as bad as they are in this pic. Course makeup helps too... With that being said, here is a pic of me looking straight on and no makeup. My left is the worse but in the pic since I turned the camera that would be the right to you. Gosh...now looking at both pics I think I will stop leaving the house without makeup! haha Yesterday was the day to work on the look.... well the hair. COLOR TIME. Had low lights added. Did not realize it had been eight months since I did this last. Now I feel a little younger looking! Pam

Print Shop to Shear City

Image
Once upon a time..... years and years ago I  worked at a small print shop in the city next to mine. I was 16. The building still stands, only an addition that was there when I worked there was removed years ago.  I have not set foot in this building since I was 16. Until Monday when I  had a hair apt. My hair  dresser moved places where she worked and this place changed from a print  shop to a car lot to  whatever but is now  a hair place.  Its changed a lot.... HAHA. I was trying to remember exactly  what was what when I  worked there. Pretty  sure that this room where the chairs are is the exact  room that was bindery  where I worked.  It was cool stepping back in here for the first time in....... ............................................ ................................................ 44 years!  Damn how did I age so fast? The Mower, Grass and Yard

Image
In the post before this one I shared my new yard art. Today I wanted to share a couple of stories of  mowers like this~ When I was a child (kindergarten and before) we would travel as a family to visit my grandmother, dads mom. My dad was from Arkansas and we were settled in Nashville, between his mom and mom's mom in Georgia. I think I was around kindergarten age when dads mom past on. Being that young, only  once a yr visits and her not being what I would call the most friendly,  her and I were not close.  But I do remember her living in this housing unit of like duplexes and having a mower like this,  course it was the 60's model at that time. Her yard being small we were allowed to cut the yard with the mower. I remember thinking that it was pretty cool at that time.  Moving on to the next story~ Years ago a couple moved in  the house behind/to the side  of mom. Mom lived and I...

Underwear, Milk, a Symbol of White Supremacy, and More

Image
I am on a page on FB called Nashville's Girls Group, its basically women supporting  women.  One of the topics that someone posted the other day was~ How often do you buy  underwear? HAHA.... After I laughed I replied that I buy underwear when  the elastic in the waist gives way and falls down around my ankles when I am walking in  my gowns.... I just thought it was a funny topic. The pic above came from the internet but now I have to ask, who hangs their underwear?  Now since the world is all turned upside down the crazies all come out. PETA: Cow's milk a symbol of white supremacy Gone from crazy to down right STUPID. If  you are on FB you need to check this out. https://www.facebook.com/terrencekwilliams/videos/564569584205558/UzpfSTE1OTY1NDIyODk6MTAyMjA0NjM5NTkzNDExMzg/ This guy is spot on!!! I think I need to go ahead and  get my carry permit and get a gun...

The Madness,

Image
And the madness continues.... This is the woman known to the world as Aunt Jemima. Real name Nancy Green. Being erased today from history cause her people feel that its  racism to have her pic on pancakes that made her famous and rich. WHY? Cause she was famous and  got there without the world oppressing her. Open your eyes idiots you are erasing your own history too. Here is the write up that came along with the pic of Ms. Green~ The world knew her as  "Aunt Jemima," but her given  name was Nancy Green  and she was a true American  s uccess story. She was  born a slave in 1834 Montgomery  County, KY... and  became a wealthy superstar  in the  advertising world, as  its first living trademark. Green was 56-yrs old  when she was selected as  spokesperson for a new  ready-mixed, self-rising  pancake flour and made  her debut ...

Pros and Cons, Bday Meal, Yard Art

Image
Pros and Cons~ There were a lot of CONS living at my old home but they of course cons that I  had learned to live with over 28 yrs.  Now at the age of 60 with a major move, selling of my home and purchasing of my childhood home I  am learning the pros and  cons of being here. I just have to learn to adjust to  them so they become my new normal! Pro ~ my old home was on a nice sized lot. Narrow since I was attached on one side to  my neighbor. But it was  long and flat. Shady, from  the trees on the creek and  ones I added over the yrs.  Con ~ here at new place, bigger yard, unused space, and its on a hill. Pro to  that is it is nothing a riding mower can't handle and pro my brother still enjoys doing  it.  In the past I have stated that I  need to hire a photographer to take my blog pics... Proof, pic below. Last Monday, the 8th was m...

Chest Turned Coffee Table / Signs

Image
Back a few months ago I  posted a pic of the chest  that mom picked up somewhere in the 70's. She painted it the cream color and dry brushed a gold in it.... I decided that it would be great as my coffee table. I started by priming it  and painting it antique white. Then work stopped. However a couple of weeks ago I cut the wood for  the top. And then again, work stopped. Today, I did however stain the wood then I  nailed in place. Next will be seal it and it is done. For sometime now I have been wanting a welcome sign so I cut the wood for it at the same time I did the top of the  coffee table. Then I stained it the other day, and played with my paints. Finished piece. Within 30 mins of posting on FB I had someone wanting to order one. haha a thought that I never even thought of.  However I decide to make some HOME ones that are shorter then ...
