The Trail, Steps, Mts., TOP, The Forgotten, and Railroad Tie Nails
Well, I did something I never thought
I would be doing, something I
never really gave a lot of thought
to at all. I walked the Appalachian
Trail.
Oops, I might hve not told
that last statement
correctly,
I walked a MILE
of the trail.
Yep, just a mile, but look
at me,
A MILE,
UP HILL
and
DOWN HILL.
On each side of the top of the trail,
there were steps, steep steps at
times. So steep that stepping down
to the other was a challenge for
this short lady!
But man was it pretty at the
very, tippy top of Max Patch NC.
When I say very TOP, I mean
I was approximately 4,626–4,629
feet (1,410–1,411 meters) above sea level.
Beautiful.
Look at the view, and that
is why they call them the
Blue Ridge Mts.
I was not alone in my trip to
the top,
my sil, Lori was with me.
Ray's allergies were messing with him
so, he stayed in the car and napped.
This is mine and Lori's
prove we were there.
talking had stopped, and
I threw the camera up over
my shoulder to check to see if
Lori was still with me...
LOL, not really, just
wanted this shot.
After the trail we were
heading back to cabin when we
stopped behind an old general
store. Lots of flooding here
in this area since this sits
right on the river.
We took at walk back behind the
old place to a graveyard.
Graveyard of
TRUCKS.
Favorite shot of the day,
truck peeping out from behind
a tree.
Also made it home with about six
to eight or so railroad tie
nails!

Love the truck photos, too.
