Great Grands, and Community Home Coming
It's been a while since I
have seen all the great grands in
one spot.
However, I failed to get a shot
of three of them.
This is Brodie.
He will be a yr old in Jan.
And then there is Kyler, recently
turned a yr old and walking up
a storm but still iffy about the
whole feet/walking thing!
Of course, you know Evie!
still long enough for a pic.
Boog and Felicity got gone before
I thought of selfies with greats.
Sat. was a busy day.
We had the community welcome home
for DJ.
And look who came...
Two of the hero's in DJ's
life the morning of Aug. 15th, 2026.
Life flight crew that assisted
DJ and got him to Vandy.
Two of the firefighters.concerned, the biggest hero
of the day, Drake.
If you remember from an earlier post,
Drake, the young man that was driving
the bread truck that Tyler (creep that
was driving truck that DJ was in) tried
to overtake. This is the young man, that
called 911 and sat in the ditch with
DJ till emergency got there.
That is his youngest daughter in
his arms. He came with his wife,
and another old daughter.
In talking to Drake, we learned even
more than we knew before
he arrived. DJ was awake the whole
time he laid in the ditch, apparently, he
never lost concentration. So, that makes
the fact that DJ was not alone so
much more meaningful.
Also, we learned that Dj was actually
thrown about 75 feet from the
truck. When the truck wrecked,
the nose of the truck hit the bank
of a ditch, went flying in the air,
hit and bounced on the nose of
the truck three times before
stopping.
Horrible to hear these things
but it's better than trying
to piece the pieces together.
THP and Sherriff's office did not
make it to the party.
Bunch of DJs friends came.
Still wearing the bandage on the leg,
because to be on the safe side,
it is still being treated with
antibiotic cream.
Sat. DJ had a doc appt.
and the brace....
has been removed.
DJ is still nervous about being
without it even though the
doc told him its healed. Range
of motion is still limited until those
muscles are worked and made
stronger.
Bless his heart, through this
whole ordeal he has lost
18 lbs.
This was taken a week ago,
he sits in the recliner but to help
with support of the space between
the neck and chair he uses a pillow
I got him couple yrs ago for part
of Christmas. It is shaped like a
game controller. It's worked so
well.
He still wears out easy, but he has
finally had some out patient
PT and he was doing things
at home.
However, will his left arm improve?
Its really weak due to the fracture
at the wrist but, it could improve
daily, just slower. Docs will tell you
that with injuries like this take up
two years to heal.
