Walk About and Plants, Misty River and Emmy Lou, and Crinoid.
Emmy Lou and I did the morning walk about,
I took my camera with us.
Dayflower, dug this out of
the wooded area.
This is my hummingbird. Someone commented
on this in another post. I think it was
Sheri from Red Rose. I got this from
a very talented guy who worked with
all sorts of metal. His name is Major
Hall. Unfortunately, Major now suffers
from Alzheimer's and just recently lost
his beloved wife Anna.
you can find it on this post I did years ago.
Such talent.
Another wild petunia peeking out of the
weeds in the wooded area.
Buds are just so cool looking, wrapped so
tight just waiting for the best moment to
BUST wide open.
This is something I have never
grown before but thought it would
look nice behind the water wagon.
Pampas Grass.
Wandering Jew.
With pinky purple flowers.
Just another shot in front
of my crazy bottle tree.
Look...I have blooms. For those
that are wondering, this is
my gourds.
I also have never grown this
before. I have two on my porch,
my oldest brother bought these for me.
They are Coleus.
HAHA.....the greenery growing
up on my Coleus, is a Forseythe Bush.
I planted it in this pot last yr. and
since I felt it was still too young to
put out in the yard this past
spring. However, I have
read that fall is a good time
to plant bushes in this growing
zone, so, come November it goes
in the ground.
I have two maple trees,
one redbud and a crepe myrtle growing
in this pot.
Again, did not want to chance planting
them this past spring and again,
they will get moved this fall.
I can't remember what color
the crepe myrtle is, red I think, but
I am proud of it, I grew it from a seed.
The two crepe myrtles I have growing now
have these really dark leaves, with a purple
tint to them.
internet pic.
This is the red crepe myrtle I have had
before and I am pretty sure this is
what I have growing in the pot.
Leaves are a lighter green.
I love the red crepe myrtles and
like I said, I am excited about the fact
that it is growing from seed.
This is a Cosmos Bipinnatus.
Are you seeing a color theme?
I tend to go straight for purple
or pinky purple blooms.
Plains Coreopsis
Brown Eyed Susan
Cosmos Sulphureus
This wild petunia is coming up
in the burn pile.
I love a Rose of Sharon bush and have not
had one for over 40 yrs.
Kriste gave me a clipping from her
bush. Said she remembered her mom would
cut them off and stick them in water and
they would root.
So, I decided to give it
a try.
Yes, I did read up on it, and
yes, it is supposed to root.
I know a very tight bud
has opened up while in the water.
Really, really hoping for it to root.
I will plant it in the pot if it
does so I can maybe put it out
in the spring.
Lily has no issues with Emmy Lou
being here at the house. You know that
girl goes with the flow. Misty, on the other hand,
would just as soon not be here.
This was a touching encounter,
Misty even head butted her.
Later in the day however,
Emmy was laying on the couch, Misty
went to jump up causing Emmy to move
and Misty took offense to that,
did a couple of big hisses and
a couple of paw slaps.
Poor Emmy.
While at Kriste's house I walked
to the end of her sidewalk waiting
on her to come out when I just looked
down. I saw this.
A crinoid AKA Indian Money,
larger than I have
found in a while.
