Dry Creek, The Sky, Fossils and Lily Bit

Temps and humidity were down
on Monday so I got out and
actually cut the backyard today.
Grass was still wet and the mower
was struggling but I got
it done.
Then I unloaded the bags of
rocks from the car and poured
them into the dry creek.

Course I need more rocks. I
figure I will need four or five
more bags. But I am loving this.
I watched the area before putting
the rocks in to be sure it was flowing
correctly. I did have to curve the end
of it more a bit so that it would
flow right how it needed to.

FYI...there used to be a time
that a project like this would
have been finished in a day,
no longer than two.
I hate aging and this body.

Monday evening I walked out of the kitchen
and all the sunset lighting flowing
in through the window was
yellow. Looked so strange.
I did not go out however and check
it out but a few mins later Braden called
and told me to go out and look at the
sky. This is over Carries house.

One direction had a hint of pink.
And behind the trees it was really
pink.

I sit a tad lower than Amber
does and I have all the trees around,
so, I did not see what she saw.

These are Amber's pics.

Tad wicked looking.

The other day when I was
arranging the rocks for the border
of the dry creek bed and I looked
down noticing all the fossils on the rocks.

Have you ever just went out in
your yard and looked down to study the
rocks? Do you ever see any that have
fossils or impressions of fossils in them?
I think of all the years I have missed out
and prob missed so many cool pieces
because I was always to
busy running through life.
Course the flip side of that is,
a house full of rocks!
I had to stop picking up rocks
and bringing them into the house.
All these above are border rocks and
border rocks they will stay.
I do have a few that I have on
the deck for future play, when I purchase
a rock saw and cut them open to
see what fossil might be wrapped
up in it.

It's Tuesday morning as I type out
this post. I had lunch plans to meet Theresa
in Spring Hill but had to cancel.
I noticed Lily was not feeling well
yesterday, she avoided even being in
the same room with me and this morning
I found her under the bed. I watched her
go to the litter box and she stayed way
to long, thinking UTI.
She has an apt this morning for the vet.
Hate when my babes are sick.

WED morning update~ Lily
is still not well. We are waiting
on lab results to come back in.

Have an amazing day,
Pam
