ATT SUCKS, The Bond, Bicentennial 1976

Hello everyone, I have been without
internet since the evening of July 8th.
Storm whipped though, but as soon
as the wind blew, it went out.
This has become an issue and with what
I pay, it should not be.

Last summer this happened and after a
few days without, a tech made it out here,
checked the boxes inside, the wires and
what knot outside and found the issue
down the road where the box is and all
the wires lead. He fixed it.
No issues.
UNTIL,
the first of June this yr. With a storm,
it went out, I waited a day then I placed
the call for a repair. Few days later, the
day before the tech was to arrive, it came
back on, on its own.
Since then there have been at least if not
more times that it went out with storms,
but in a couple of hours later, it came back up.
That was not the result this time. I
waited till the 9th, placed the call which caused
me to be on line with that voice mail crap for an
hour, after making the call and getting cut off twice.
Finally, after an hour, I got a tech, also after
telling that voice mail box thing I wanted a
tech several times. I was told that
they could not have anyone here until the
14th. Talk about ticking someone off.
I told them, that was not a problem, I
would be finding another carrier and I
was canceling my account. He sent me
to cancelations and after being on the
phone for 15 mins, I hung up.
The plan was to go to my daughters today,
and cancel online, however, I woke this
morning and had internet.

NOW, my thoughts on this are,
someone else is attached to the same box
as me must be making that call for repair
before me and a tech comes out, fixes
the problem, which also fixes my
issue.
Next thought is, ATT must have the
most defeated wiring around cause if
you remember when I moved back to
my childhood home I had issues with
this same issue for over 6 months.
Techs would come out and jiggle wires
outside at the box and mess with the
equipment inside, even as far as saying,
maybe if we replace this it will be better.
Finally, on my last call the person on
the other end with ATT was told,
get it fixed! Bring a bucket out and check
the wiring leading to the pole and from
the pole to my box, just standing there
looking up at the wiring from
the ground will not work.
They did that, it was fixed and
I had no issues.

So, saying all that, I am making
calls today to find a carrier and
cancel ATT.
Somedays, I HATE technology.

I know you have read time and time
again about how great my school peeps are.
How so many of us have met in
the past to support other classmates
in the music career, or attending visitations
for classmates families that have passed on,
or some just down on their luck.
This time it's a little different,
a classmate that I graduated with
has cancer, classmates have been beside
him through his journey, and those of us
that can will be with him till the end.

The word went on FB and those
that could, appeared.
Left to right - Terri, Pam, Regina, and Tonya.
Terri was on the receiving end of donations
taken up among the class of 78 three or
four yrs ago when she was having a lot
of eye issues, surgeries, divorce and she
raises her grandkids.
Pam is the friend that I used to
take care of her three cats cause she
plays ball on a traveling league.
And that is Mike Pope in the bed.

Again, Pam, Dawn, Regina, Terri, Tonya and
Janet.
Janet's hubs works for a funeral home and
two years ago when a classmates sister lost
her hubs to a work accident, Janets hubs
went to work setting up the arrangements,
and working to get the body transported
from out of state back home.

Moving onto the guys, an amazing bunch
of guys. Left to right, Steven, Darren,
Wayne, David, Danny, and Guy.
Steven, is am amazing artist, I will have
to share some of his stuff with you at
another time. Darren lives in NM and happened
to be here because his mom has been
sick. Wayne, plays mean rock on an electric
guitar. David is a retired fireman, and
preacher. David is also the dude that I
transported to appts for having a couple
of abalations on his back during COVID.
Danny, aka Dano is a mess. His wife and I
were really good friends growing up, she lived
two doors down and Guy sent me the
cutest keychain with a heart and paw charm on it with a
message of the passing of a pet when I lost
Dakota. Dakota by the way had so many
followers on FB it was crazy, so many
folks loved my oddly strange dog.

David and Darren.

Talking with folks through blogs,
FB's and personally I have learned
of NO other school or classmates have
what us DuPonters have.

AMAZING folks.

Do you have old friends and classmates from
school that you still have regular contact
with?
Has your class or school mates gotten together
for other reasons besides
reunions?
Are there any of your mates that would be
there to hold you hand in the time
of need?

I think our school and class have
something really great.

On that note, I was 16 when
the USA celebrated our Bicentennial
year, 50 years ago.
(CRAP, I am old).
My school celebrated in a cool way.
We dressed the part.

This is me in the dress my mom
made and this is Wendy.
Wendy was my neighbor, I babysat
her from the time she was 3 months old
till she turned 3 and they moved away.
Wendy was my sidekick.
During lunch the day of the
Bicentennial event,
mom brought Wendy to school.
There is another pic of Wendy and I,
along with a guy that was a yr or two
older than I, it was in the local
newspaper. However, I have yet to put
my fingers on it. Couple more
boxed to go through.

Hoping you have an amazing
day and weekend,
Pam
