Artifacts, Platter, Misty, Painting, Big Springs
Well, well, well,
Look what I found in my yard a few months back but finally got around to researching these.
Middle Tn. Arrowhead.

Excited, been hoping to find one. My brothers found a couple back when we first moved into my childhood home at six yrs old. When I moved out this way and started locating fossils and gems, I hoped to find one. Now, it’s time to get out and locate more!! Lol
This I am told is either a sharpener, or a scrapper. But my research shows that it could even be an arrowhead, my thoughts, not sure about that one.
I love rockhounding!
My great granny attended Thanksgiving dinner with us the other day. Okay, not her personally but in one of her procession. This beautiful platter.
Now you can tell by looking at it, that it’s old. My mom was good about tracing antique pieces down and finding out their worth. This however has no price on the sticker on the bottom side, but the sticker does tell about the piece. All
Mom knew about this piece was that my great granny served her fried chicken every Sunday on this very platter.
Got several of these type of pieces, some with stickers mom put on them telling who they were from and what they are worth. I hate using them for fear of breaking them, but on the other hand, I hate having them just stored in the cabinet. I think for now though, I will only use here at the house and not take them out.
Funny thing, I never cared about antiques, or older pieces, BUT, I figure it is cool to like that stuff now since I am old and an antique myself.
Plus, it’s my families history.
Looked over last night to see this site.
The girls might not like to be held and lived on, at least not on my schedule, but they like being close to their mom. That’s a good thing cause their mom loves having them close!

Totally forgot that I need to remove that painting above Misty, take a good pic of it and have prints made. My cousin, when she was here had a fit and wanted a print. When she got home and showed her sis, she contacted me and wanted a print. You see, as kids when we visited Mt great grandma, we spent many hours at this place. We all have our memories.
And you know what, searching my
pics on FB I could not locate pics I know I have.
Here is all I could find on FB on those times at the Big Springs.
My other cousin Margaret and I.
All three of were within a yr in age with each other. We hung pretty close.
Now, I have never, oops, I just started to lie to you…I have been a blonde twice thanks to L’Oréal!
But never at this age, so that should tell which teen I am.
I did run across a few more pics, ones that date back long before my cousins and were ever thought of.
My mom at the Bug Springs.
Dad
I did take the shots below prob back
In the 70’s.
This is the section that narrows down off the springs where we swam, leading to the filtering plant.
I probably failed to mention the the Big Springs in Cedartown, Ga. Is the towns source of water. Let me straighten that up, the water comes in and through the Big Springs and then to the filtering plant.

But like I said, I gotta go on a search, cause none of these pics show the walking bridge in my painting.
But I did find a pic on the internet… of course I did, internet had everything!
I am hoping that come spring, I will load up the car and make my way to Cedartown. Would like to swing by some places I have not been in yrs.
My trip can take me through
through Chickamauga Battlefield
We used to stop here on our way to see great granny’s.
Anyway, hoping you have a great day. Enjoyed the websites for extra reading, and you found something totally cool to laugh at,
Pam
