Reply to Marie, Deer Processing, Partners in Crime, Ornament, Pillow, Skeletons, and Dinner
Marie over at
Made this comment on one of
my post about the reunion.
Such a large family!
Marie, yes, and there
was almost as many not
there as was there.
I prepared my grandsons for
the meeting, they have
never been around that
many FAMILY members!!!
Esp. DJ, he is an introvert but
he enjoyed it the most...
Got any deer hunters here?
I know most of you are women,
but that don't mean you
can't hunt. My niece was
a deer hunter, would field dress
them and pull them out of
the woods.
Don't do it much now with
three kids.
Anyway, 15 to 20 mins down
the road there is a processing
plant.
And it is deer season.
Processing has begun.
They tag them for the customer
that brings them in, then
they take them in to process
them.
When I worked for the Tennessee
Bureau of Investigation there
were three Admin Assistants for
Medicaid Fraud.
Deborah worked with the
east Tennessee office and agents.
Cindy worked with west Tennessee and
I worked with middle Tennessee.
We referred to ourselves as
Partners in Crime.
We also caught the hotline
for Medicaid and most times
the people on the other end could
not speak English very well.
One day Cindy caught that line and
the gentleman was speaking more
Spanish then English.
Cindy got tongue tied when trying
to speak to this guy and
I heard her say, "No sir, I
don't speak English!
Now, when you slip like that, the
last person you want to overhear it,
is ME!
HAHA.
That became an on going
joke in the office.
Cindy tagged me on FB on
these cups she found. I might just have
to have on. Course, if I was still
in the office, I would not be
saying might!!
While surfing FB I saw this.
I love it and you know, my
mind went straight to how I could
make one for myself!
I don't order things through
FB. Just not sure about doing that.
I think, if I find the time,
I might see what I can do.
OH my gosh....Liz look
at this! It is crocheted but this
could be done knitting also.
And you would not need to do
it in Christmas colors, and really
would not need a pattern.
One last FB find before I
do Thanksgiving meal
food pics.
I love this!!
To think I packed my
skeletons up!
What was I thinking!!
Course, it would not be hard
to pull them out.
Amber cooked and cooked and
did a great job.
There was Amber, hubs Will,
DJ, Braden, Jesse, Chandler,
Namath and me.
Others were at other
relative's families.
When you have a blended
family, there is never a place
to eat.
I furnished the ham but
Amber cooked it so I did
not have to load and take over
there once it was done.
I took creamed taters in the
crock pot.
My favorite side dish was
the dressing.
I had a bit of turkey cause
Amber wanted me to try it,
I am not a turkey fan.
It was so moist.
These are what art called
cheap'm pies.
My dad seemed to think that pies
needed to be homemade and since
he was never in the kitchen, mom
would pop a frozen pie in the
over, throw some flour around and
This is a choc pie I made,
I had been doing this recipe
as brownies, and cutting back
on the sugar. I doubled
the recipe and made a pie
with it, forgot to cut the
sugar back, and boy, yum,
its sweet.
This is so good!!
Ambers cheese ball.
It's funny, DJ request her
three cheese homemade mac and cheese,
which I failed to get a pic of,
and Namath always request the
cheese ball.
I made sausage balls...tried a different
way from how I used to make
them many years ago.
I put 8 oz of cream cheese along
with cheddar cheese. Thought that
would sail them over the top but
they were so, so. I also saw
a recipe for putting
Ro-Tel!
Trying that for Christmas.
Cheddar cheese and diced maters
with peppers in them.
Will and my boys like hot stuff
so, I am going for it!
I also made my moms favorite
to go dessert.
Its made with flour, sugar
and pecans for the crust.
Whip cream over that,
choc pudding over that,
whip cream over that
and chopped pecans over that.
Amber usually makes that
put to try and help out, I
did it this yr.
Dinner was GREAT.
Spending time with the fam
was great.
What is your favorite
Thanksgiving side dish?
Happy day after Thanksgiving,
Pam
