Skeletons, Mailbox, House, Broom, Ants and A Small Gray Ball of Fur
All my life I had that one day
California would drop off in the
ocean. Yep, I am thinking Mother
Nature has changed that tune and is
working on Fla. instead.
Prayers to all my friends
in Fla. once again for
the storm moving in.
This is Milton.
Helene did a mess on Tampa
and this storm seems to be
heading straight for them
again and in less than
two weeks after Helene.
On another note, they don't
think this one take the
same path as Helene up
into GA. TN or NC.,
let's hope not.
Still not got the sister witches
made and outside yet.
I sort of ventured off
on several different task on
Tuesday.
Tuesday was an amazing day,
cool, nice breeze, sunny
and beautiful!
On top of that, I felt better
than I have since Mothers Day.
On that day, the boys came over
and that is when we put the
hose pipe post up and the mailbox
post. I taught the boys
to concrete them in the holes,
and they both used my saw.
That feels like
FOREVER
a go.
Anyway, I got a lot to done,
but not near as much as I
could have years ago, but
I am giving myself a break
on that.
Took this pic from the bench
on the front porch.
Tuesday morning. I was up and
out at 10:30 cutting my grass.
After that, I started weed whacking
and I ran out of string.
With that said, in the process
of going to gather the string
I somehow got involved in
decorating the mailbox.
Yep, totally forgot about
loading the string!
My pull off the road for the
mail lady to get to my mail
project did not work the way
I thought it should. I did not
take into consideration that there
was a slope and the gravel would
slide down after a bit.
And it had. So, I also jumped
in to fix that and do something
a tad different in that area.
More on that later.
Here is the house from the
road with the decor up.
I went to storage the other
day, I brought back my broom. I
made this last year and I
needed to place it in
the house for Halloween.
BIG
ant hill next to the porch.
That is where those little
shits were coming from!
It was directly across the porch
from the living room corner
that took me forever to get
them out, even after I had the
house treated. Now I see why.
This was built at some point
in the last couple of weeks.
I took care of it.
I had bought some Terro
crystal type stuff that you sprinkle
on the hill or around a house.
I took a stick and scraped the
top of the hill and watched
hundreds of hundreds of
ants go running, I then sprinkled
the stuff on that.
I then went to the other one
that I had found next to the driveway,
it was treated the same way.
Tuesday morning before mowing,
I checked them. The one
next to the porch, no ants.
The other one was still full.
So, I ran over it with the mower
and then treated it again.
I have NEVER seen hills
so big and never seen so many
ants in my life.
Tomorrow, I might be able to
stay on task and get the
rest of the weed whacking done!
Oct. is the birth month of
my little gray ball of fur!
She is four this month.
From a tiny, dull gray
runt to a striking beauty.
Merriest Birthday month
to you sweetie pie.
Speaking on Misty, she has been
leaving some undigested puke around
here and there. Now, funny thing is,
ants never went near the cat food,
but let her upchuck some, they are
on it so fast its unreal!
Moving on....I read to spread the
food out on a plate, not a bowl and
don't put much out.
It seems to be working great!
Also, I was in my room on
Sunday, but Misty was on the
deck. She came in and apparently
I think she thought I left her. She
came in off the deck, trilling the
word Mama, but it sounded pitiful, like
she was crying it.
Broke my heart!

Yikes on the birthday girl puking here and there. Looks like you figured it out. We don't put out much food either, but now and then we do have some puke. Mostly it's Squeaker eating our faux plants.
Have a fabulous day and rest of the week, Pam. Scritches to the kitties. ♥
