Nashville, Retirement. Original Group,

 I traveled into Nashville
Wednesday afternoon for a
retirement party.
It was being held in the
Capitol.
The light figures in that place
are amazing.

The toast of T was in one
room then we moved upstairs to
the library for the cake and get
together.
This is T with one of the
Gov's staff members.

She thought she had it all
together, till the end of
her speech.

Dawn taking the pics of the event.

Time to move upstairs.

Staircase in the library.

HAHA...I just love the lights
from the bottom.

They are so amazing.
I really loved this iron staircase.

Details were amazing on this spiral
staircase.
I have been in the capitol many
times before but I had never
been in this room.
I could not stop looking around.

The details in the ceiling
were cool.

Even on the doors.

This is a dear friend, Tammy.

When I worked in the purchasing end
of printing, Tammy came to work
for us, as my supervisor.
It was always fun working with her.
Not only my boss but we would go
out and do things together.
I left printing/photo serv. and went to the TBI.
But when I went back to PS,
I found that Tammy was now
the asst director of General Services which
included PS.
I have not seen Tammy in about 3.5
yrs so it was great to see her.

Anyway, Liz, Nancy and I,
were at the retirement so afterwards
we all, including T went to dinner.

 Pretty good.

And here is T, as we celebrate her
going into retirement.
I tend to ALWAYS forget to
take pics of the watercolor cards
I paint. I did a really cute one of
an old fashion came hanging on a nail
on a wooden fence for T's retirement
card.
Across the top I wrote,
"She's hanging it up"
and at the bottom I wrote
"Snap, its over"....
as a photographer for over 40
it will never be over and you truly
never hang it up.

Best wishes T!

Sad not:
One of the original photographers
from back in the day passed away
last week. I was able to learn about
Jim and even work with him after
he left the state but helped us out
as a freelance photographer.
The originals were Jed (my old boss),
Jim, and Robin Hood. Later adding,
Warren.
Jim's ashes will be laid to rest in
a VA cemetery but the following Friday
there will be a memorial for him.
I will attend the memorial but the
intermittent is going to be a small affair
of close friends and family.
RIP Jim.

Yes, I did mention ROBIN HOOD.
Catchy name huh?
Anyway, he became an Pulitzer award
winning photographer.
You can read about him here...
I never had the honor of
meeting Robin.

Earl Warren I did meet.
HE dropped in photo service here and there.
He passed in 2014.
Earl was a Pulitzer award finalist.

Jed, chief state photographer for many
years for the state of Tn.
Jed retired just as I was coming
back on to work around 2019.
I worked with Jed for four years
when I was a full time state employee.
You can read about Jed here..

and again here..
Jed is reaching into the early 70th oddish years now.
I figure it is not nice to ask a man
his age just like it is for a woman.
haha.

Now lots of folks had "get along"
issues with Jed. He was not the easiest
guy to work for. However, when I went to work
for Jed one of his secretary's from before me,
that I also know told me, if anyone can
handle him, it will be you.

In four yrs. Jed and I only had one issue.
I guess I just knew how to
let things roll off my back and handle
them in ways most did not.
Jed contacted me, several times,
after I went to the TBI, usually
about office stuff. But he once told
me Representatives and Senators offices, and
staff along with other offices were always calling for me
to help with something. He told me
he would never let anyone talk against me.
I did not ask was that an issue, knowing
Jed it was not something that happened it
was just a thought that entered his mind.

I hope to see him at Jims Memorial, its been
a hot minute but I learned yesterday
that him and his wife sold and are moving
to Oregan to be closer to a
daughter.
Wishing him and Nancy an easy move,
and a life time of happiness.
Pam
