Wonder Woman, Cleaner from Hell, Rock or What, Shed Decor and Wild in the Yard
GOOD BEAUTIFUL
FRIDAY MORNING!
It is 10 am Fridqy morning,
done my coffee, loved my girls,
piddled a bit, walked the yard, listened
to the songs being sung in the
trees behind the house and now I
am getting to my blog
BEFORE
I get off my lazy rear and
did a little something!
But, neck and head pain has me
waiting on the moving crap!
I know...excuses, excuses!
So, you all have read my post
from .....well, for a few yrs and I
think you pretty much know me to
a point.
You know my issues with health
crap. You know I love ROCKS.
You no I love animals.
You pretty much know my
taste in decor and that I
am an artist and photographer.
With that said, just in case you
are not aware, last June after
my body sort of gave up and
said to hell with my adventures of
trying to get my yard the way I
want it, I am still not up to par.
But with that said, I am no where
near being up to par on how I was
years ago.
Years ago, I was up and out (days off)
and playing in the yard or cleaning
the house (constantly) from morning
till night.
A friend called me Wonder Woman.
And if not that, she called me
THE CLEANER FROM HELL.
Yep, that is not me at all
anymore. Plus were you aware that
I cleaned rental homes for a
friend that had several or that I
cleaned homes for other friends?
Yep, single mom and all, making
money how I could....this was
before teaching paint classes
or photographer..
even before the venue.
Anyway, I have to sort of get up
in the morning and decide how the body
is doing and pick and choose what it
can handle that day.
And yes, most days I push way past
what I should.
With that being the case, I have
picked an up coming show so, the
house is a mess.
A TOTAL mess, like drop something on
the floor mess and it lays for a few days.
I walk around it cause it takes
that ump to bend and pick it up.
Not only have I been doing the get
ready for show thing, I have been
trying to play some in the yard before
the heat moves in. Generally, after the heat,
comes in, I am wiped. Basically, I get about
two good hours a day.
Maybe, if lucky I can somehow
manage another hour in the
evenings. I am not talking
completely down, I can sit and paint or
read or something like that, but
moving, going, bending, laundry,
dishes...etc. Gotta wait till I want
to put it on the daily list.
HAHA....yesterday I was doing my
walk about the yard when the
idea hit me, it was cool, early so
I grabbed the shovel.
You see when my driveway was
made and gravel dumped, it was way
wide enough for three cars, side by side.
and another section to the side for more
parking. When the carport was installed
it was sat in the center of the area for
three cars. Two cars can park under it. But
that left that space for the third car, being
halfed up and part on one side of the carport and
the other on the other side. I hate that. What
good is gravel there? Weeds grow through the
gravel in the summer so I have elected to
let grass grow in those areas, but in my mind,
I can't have it grow over gravel.
There is where the shovel came into play.
LOL
I got half of one area done.
Finished it this morn. Tossing the
gravel into the area under the carport.
Now don't laugh I went through all
that just to show you what I found.
Lot of FB debate as to if it
is an arrowhead or not.
Looks like it could be, but the
type of stone says no it is not.
Google said it could be a spear.
Who knows!
I was excited though cause if it
is, that is the second find in my
yard in a yr.
Wow!
I know you must be scratching your head about
what all I shared before sharing my rock/
artifact/arrowhead/spear!
Scratch on!
Like I said, I get up in
the morning and decide what
I think I can do that day.
But, like yesterday it was a sort
of fly by the seat of my pants day.
I did the gravel and I hung a sign I
made a couple yrs ago. I was going to hang
over the carport but when I got the new
shed, I decided it was going here...
And it looks amazing.
I also hung to solar lights.
One on this end and one on the other.
I got this at GW back in late summer
last yr. Hung it on the side.
I am thinking however, that
under that needs a painted scene.
I have yet to hear Amber's thoughts
on me being up on my three step stool,
with a drill and items to hang. I will admit
having help with the sign would have been
nice. Oh well, next time.
Did I share with you that
my wildflower bed is up and planted?
Must have deleted the pic from my
phone but it has stuff coming up
in it already!
Before I cut my yard this last
time I had this plant coming up
all over the place.
This is Lyreleaf saga, comes
up wild and I am sure by the
spread of seeds in the wind.
I dug a few up for my flowerbed
and some for Theresa. We will see
if they come back in the same spot
next yr.
Part of the mint family and you can
eat the young leaves. You can
also use the whole plant in a tea.
Next growing wild in the yard is
Yellow Wood Sorrel. This is a small
edible herb. You can chow down on
the flower, the stem and leaves, it
has a tangy lemon like flavor.
the blue eyed grass. Although it is
called a grass it is not a true grass.
Great for borders in your yard.
I love finding these cool, new flowers (new
to me anyway). I also enjoy having your learn
about them right along with me.
Hope you have a great weekend,
Pam
