Day Out Meeting Folks
Yesterday I told you about my
adventures and the meeting of two
really sweet folks.
After that visit we went down another
county, none paved road where there
were two homes.
Can you believe it, there
are still gravel roads in this county?
Anyway, we stopped at the first
house and meet Carl or was it Clay.
I can't remember cause he was
introduced as both. When Robert worked
with him, he got the name wrong
and called him that for months till
he realized it was the other.
So, being introduced using both names
I can't remember which was
right.
Anyway, this is Sha, Carl/Clay and Robert.
It was just a plus meeting him cause
that was not exactly where we
were heading. If you look close
in the back you can barely see a white
house, that was where we were
heading.
Sorry, I did not get the best of
pics of that.
When we left Carl/Clay we
were greeted by four of the
coolest greeters.
OOPS, I don't remember
names, or if they were male
or female.
Wait for it...
DOGS!
This home was also named a
Century old farm,
but according to the
woman I talked with, Mary Beth, this home is,
the actual land has been in the
family going on 200 yrs.
I spoke with Mary Beth, sweet woman.
I had been given her name back in
Nov. from the woman at the
Chamber that I worked with on
the Halloween Parade pics.
I asked about old maps of this
area and was told to seek Mary Beth
out at the Historical Commission.
I had not yet done that, and
actually. had forget the name of the
woman I needed to see
UNTIL,
the other day and I just so
happened to meet her.
which she took me in was built in 1887.
However, it is not the original home.
That one was out back and we did not
go back to see that.
This home has many layers though,
it has been added onto twice.
Oh wait, that was not really the
fun part, the fun part of this story is
who Mary Beth is...
She is the great grandniece of
Sarah Cannon, and for those
of you that do not know
Sarah Cannon her AKA
name is Minnie Pearl.
The house and the
porch I sat on swinging with
Mary Beth was the home of
Minnies great grandparents.
Minnie and Mary Beths granny were
sisters.
But the coolest thing was this.
I mentioned how nice it was and
was told it was the piano that
Minnie learned to play on.
I asked could I take a pic and she
said, sure, open it up.
I touched those keys and took my pic.
So cool.
Great day.
I have also sent out
thank you cards to Leroy and Wanda.
Mary Beth
for having me at their
home and Robert and Sha for taking
me around.
Totally forgot to take a pic
of their card.
Have a great day,
Pam
