Cuddles, V day, Teacher, Weirder, Trivit, Limb, and Blow Ups

Some days this big ball of
fur just wants mom cuddles


The sleeping arrangement on 
Sunday night went sort of like
this...
Me, more towards the center
of the queen bed, Misty curled up 
between the edge and me, 
right at my chest level, my 
arm around her, and Lily in front
of my stomach with her
front legs thrown over
my tummy.
I did not have to worry 
about getting cold!

Do your pets sleep with you?
How many and where in the bed
do they sleep?

Two days after Christmas I 
went to the store and saw 
this. 


But that was not all, 
SPRING stuff is
going out!
We had a few really cold days
here in TN. but not enough to 
ever refer to it as winter.

Oh my gosh, the memories.


RIP Ms. Meek.

Ms. Meek, probably fresh out
of school herself was my 
3rd grade teacher.
Sweet lady with reddish 
brown hair. 
And time keeps moving on.

To all my women bloggers that
are somewhat like me....


Back in Nov. (I think it was) that
I emptied out the storage unit and 
brought it all to the shed. 
I unpacked some things and I 
ran across this.


I am assuming it was made for
what mom used it for,
a trivit. This used to sit in the 
middle of the stove, between
the eyes of the stove sat and on it
she had a container that held bacon grease.
Yep, I have that container also 
put up in the top of my cabinets.

As always, I don't blog about
one thing, I go from this to that,
and all over, that is how my 
brain works!
Anyway, I have been keeping my
eye on a limb in my neighbors tree for 
about a yr., it  had broken away from 
the tree and was just sitting up in the 
tree, wedged on other branches.
Couple weeks ago, a little storm moved
in and that limb finally came down,
stuck right in the ground, left standing 
up like this.

Okay, so one little limb, and I made
a big old conversation about it..
haha

One last thing...
if you think about it, somewhere along
the line, you read that I am not 
a fan of BLOWUPS!
Just don't care for them...
There is an older couple that lives
down on my road that apparently loves
them. I mean really 
LOVES 
them.

This is only a few of this couples
display.
I would say that there was at least
25, to 30 of these things in their front yard.
Matter of face, there is a spot of land
next to their house and the other house,
assuming it is part of their property but
it was FULL
of these things. 

When I was a teen, just cause the 
thought crossed my mind as a fun 
event, not distructive, I thought it would 
be cool to take a pin and pop all those
big balloons that car dealerships attached 
to cars for sale.
That thought returned to me when 
I past the blowups..
NO,
I would not do it, and NO
I never did it on the cars,
but it don't mean that thought
was not there!

After my trip to town today,  visit with the doc, stopping  and picking up breakfast I  headed home.  I had dropped Dakota off at mom's for the day. He was going  to spend the day  playing with Klohe and Cheyenne. While he was hanging at mom's Lily and I chilled all day.  So much to do but I can't seem to get it in gear. Coffee Table Redo

Morning all. Couple weeks ago I found this at a neighbors home put out on the side of the  road. Loaded it up in my Prius. It was heavy and LONG.  Standing it up next to me it comes to my shoulders and I am 5'2. My daughter Amber had told me just that week that she needed a coffee table. I think it was meant to be! Basic maple with a traditional  look and a formica top. that you can't do much with. So after checking with my daughter to be sure size would not be a problem I got to work. I built a frame. My thoughts were that if I made a frame and attached wood to that I could slip it right over the top of the existing table top.  Oops....forgot a step... before making the frame I spray painted the base in an ivory color.  Now with that step added in I  move on to what it looks like with the wood attached  to my frame. Forgotten, Old, Square, Coffee and Parada

The other day I mentioned that I  left the house early and  stayed gone for hours, with my  camera. Going to try and work on  my "Forgotten in Hickman Co." album on FB. It is sort of overwhelming that there is so much abandoned  property in this county.  The pic above is on  the main strip and I think it maybe was once a store, or  a place to eat. While I was riding around the county seat of my county, I saw this amazing home. And this one. Centerville has some really old homes. The town was  established in 1823. and in 2020 the population     was 3,489. There is no growth in  this county, the county seat wants to keep it that way.  The town square has more vacant buildings then ones that have something in them. Last time I was there, there was a bakery, that did not make it along with one restaurant that I had eaten at before. This could be one adorable square if Hickman Co. would allow growth.
