Top Destination Again, Weird, Cabbage Soup, Ornaments, and The Cake

Well, go figure. Is TN the only
place folks can find to work or what.
Are they all striving to be country music
artist or what?
lol
Just in the two years of 
living here in Hickman Co. aka
Hicksville, I have seen changes.
Oh no, not in this county but the 
two that border close by us for 
our shopping needs. 
Lots of building and growing.
Matter of the fact, right over our
county line into Dickson Co.,
right on the line, land has gone up 
for sale on both sides of the road.

Does odd, strange or
weird attract the same?

lol

Update on health, after the shot
on Wed., couple of days went by
without results then on Saturday 
evening, I started to feel a 
tad better. 
TAD, just a little but 
enough that I got the living
room picked up on Monday 
evening. 
I also cooked.

Tuesday, must have
done a tad too much cause 
doing today was not doable.
However, I did sit and paly
with some ornaments. 

Isn't it amazing what you can
do with sticks?

Sat. afternoon Will held a 
get together and have cake 
for Amber's bday which was 
Friday.
She was really excited about 
getting this.

I have done it, my son
has done it, and I knew Amber
had been wanting to do it,
so months ago when they were
on sale for Fathers Day, I got her one.
Along with the desk I had given
her last month she also go the 
test kit, a Friends hanger
The sign was a take off from 
last yr when I did this key holder
for her bday.
Not sure what I will do next
yr to stay within this theme.
A body cream that she likes in 
a smell I can't stand.
The brand I actually love, its
Ciroa and comes in a lot of 
different scents, however, 
Amber likes Pink Rose
and Oat Milk. 
But she also got her very own
brick book door stopper of her
favorite book when she was a child,
The Best Nest.

She was not impressed over the 
card I made her..
lol


Not sure what the problem was..




Oh well....

I also made her favorite cake, 
which again, I do not like but
she does. 
Mom used to make it for her 
so I picked up the ingredients to make
it. Mom called it a better than 
sex cake but when I looked
that up to make, it was choc and 
moms was never choc. Come to 
find out it is actually called 
a Southern Pig Pickin
cake...
Why I don't know.
Yellow cake mix with mandarin 
oranges in it, topped with 
whip cream, crushed pineapple and
instant vanilla pudding.
Amber said it just did not taste
like mom's cake. Well, the next
day I realized why it did not taste
like her's....I forgot the vanilla
pudding mix.
OOPS!

After my trip to town today,  visit with the doc, stopping  and picking up breakfast I  headed home.  I had dropped Dakota off at mom's for the day. Forgotten, Old, Square, Coffee and Parada

The other day I mentioned that I  left the house early and  stayed gone for hours, with my  camera. Going to try and work on  my "Forgotten in Hickman Co." album on FB. It is sort of overwhelming that there is so much abandoned  property in this county.  The pic above is on  the main strip and I think it maybe was once a store, or  a place to eat. While I was riding around the county seat of my county, I saw this amazing home. And this one. Centerville has some really old homes. The town was  established in 1823. and in 2020 the population     was 3,489. There is no growth in  this county, the county seat wants to keep it that way.  The town square has more vacant buildings then ones that have something in them. Last time I was there, there was a bakery, that did not make it along with one restaurant that I had eaten at before. This could be one adorable square if Hickman Co. would allow growth. Big Springs Paintings / Medals

A few post back I posted the hometown swimming hole where I visited often when in  my mom's hometown. I also posted a painting I did for my mom of that swimming hole. I painted this years ago. I  painted it once before also. Back when I was in high school. This painting hung in my mom's dinning room for almost 30 years.  And now hangs in the spare bedroom.  Big difference in painting styles and mediums. The first painting above was done in oils and the other one in acrylics.  HAHA....this is what it is like living in the country. On the way to Ray's house after doing errands... had to stop and let these guys cross the road. But....right next to them looking at the wild turkeys was this guys! This area is covered with deer. I counted 10 on my brothers property this morning when I was leaving the  house. Two mom's that have a set of twins each! Hanging in my brother...
