Arcade, Bread Bags, Misty and Labs

The Nashville Arcade is a historic landmark in the heart
of Nashville. Built in 1902 and modeled after
the famous arcade, Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele,
in Milan, Italy.
Covering nearly five acres and
spanning two city blocks.

I have walked this arcade so many,
many times. It sits about three city blocks
from the building I used to work in.
The first time I entered this arcade I
was 18. At that time, in 1978, the arcade
was still young at 76 years old.
Today it still stands, at the rip
ole age of 123 yrs of age. The
arcade has gone through many changes
over the years. Stores move in and stores
move out. I used to really enjoy going
in the soda shop that used to be there
in the 70s. Best handmade shakes I
ever had. It had the counter with
the old fashion style stools around it
and booths on the wall.
Some of the first tentants to the arcade were~

  • The Ocean
  • Patterson's Novelty Shop
  • Blue Seal Bakery
  • Bland's Fruit Stand
  • Tennessee Central Railroad Freight & Ticket Office
  • Southern Ice Company
  • Best & Russell Cigar Company

Stores now in the arcade are~
Food & Drink
It has probably been close to 20
years since I walked from one end
of that place to other.
One of my favorite places to visit
was the Peanut Shop that according to
the all knowing internet came in 1927.

If you ever happen to visit Nashville, swing
by the arcade, its an amazing place of
history.

Talking about history,
how about the pic below...

And if you know, you know!
haha
I know!!

Misty River was sitting on
the coffee table looking at
Lily on the back of the couch
last night, and you know me...
I saw a cute pic in her pose.

Can you see the tree in
background? Yesterday I had
a spurt of energy, a very small
spurt and so I took my
Christmas cards I have
gotten and placed them on
the tree since I never put ornaments
on it.
It works!

So for those that follow, and only
cause you read my blog and are
forced to follow my health...
here are the conclusion of my labs.
Please notify patient of anemia panel results. Iron levels
are low. Please increase ferrous sulfate 325mg to BID
- send prescription to patient's pharmacy. Also,
vitamin B12 levels are low. Patient may either come
to clinic for cyanocobalamin 1000mcg IM injections
(weekly x 4-8 weeks, then monthly - first one ASAP)
or take oral supplements (cyanocobalamin 1000mcg daily).

Listen to your body folks,
my problem is to figure out
if its Fibro related or apparently,
like this Gasstric bypass surgery
related.
All this cause my body does
not absorb the supplements it need.

For those that are not aware,
I have suffered from
really deep bad depression
once in my life where I thought
of doing away with myself.
After being babysat for five
days in the looney ward of the local
hospital once, I will never think
that way again..
But I have to say as I sat here
daily, no energy to get up and move,
to just turn on the TV an listen while
I stared into space, I have
wondered just how much longer
I could exist like this.
Feeling like a limp dish rag,
afraid that you balance being so
off would cause a fall, rapid and
incressed heart rate, skin and eye
lids twitching, letting the house go,
the girls begging that the litter box
be cleaned more often, so fatigued you
have no energy, you have to wonder
about the days to come in you life
and you know there is no way you
can continue like this....Knowing
something is not right but not
being able to put your
finger on it, and not getting
answers or having to wait
for them, is scary.
I have to report however,
from the B shot I got in the doc
office on Wed., I feel a little,
tiny bit of energy returning....
Please send me good vibes,
prayers if you are one to pray,
well wishes and all that this
helps.

Thanks all,
Pam

I'm so sorry. It's not good feeling so run down. Hopefully the vitamin B and getting some iron into you will help.

Historic arcade!
That was an interesting arcade history. Misty, you sure are a pretty girl. Take care of yourself, yes, love iron and b12 would sure make you feel tired all the time.

Just today I recalled a coworker who purposely wrecked her car after her husband cheated on her. They later remarried. I thought of their family and wished them well because I drove past where we used to work together in the nineties. Just remember that you are loved and never truly alone. Please reach out if you need to talk. Nashville isn't that far from me in Southwest Ohio, either. Hugs and blessings, my dear.

When I hear the word arcade I think of a place filled with games. Interesting history on this one.
I do remember doing that with bread bags.
Oh my gosh, I know! That is hilarious!

Hope you get your energy back and here's to a wonderful rest of the holiday season! Happy 2026!
I love the sense of the history of the arcade and thinking about the elegant shopping. Happy holidays,
