Witch, Lightworker or What?
I usually do not post about religious and/of
political stuff either on FB or while blogging.
Not from fear of backlash but basically
cause my thoughts are my thoughts and
I prefer folks to not jump down my throat
and make me get my defenses up. I am stubborn
and if I feel a certain way, you are not
changing my mind.
With all that crap said and it being the
time of the season of witches I wanted
to share what I read.
In early times witches were seen as
healers. They were called upon by village
people to heal the sick and dying. Then for some
reason, unbeknown to anything I could find,
the Christian Church thought witches to
be evil and practicing with the devil.
Interesting.
I could not find anything that spoke
of why the church thought this.
Today, witches are seen as
spiritual and nature-loving.
Through herbs and the practice of
setting intentions, these witches are
not seen as evil.
Modern witches present
their lifestyle as a way to reclaim power
over their lives, and this journey to self -
empowerment and self- love is an essential part
of most modern witch.
Why were witches seen to be ugly?
It stems from a combination of societal fears
and historical misconceptions. The stereotype of them
being ugly is often linked to the negative
connotations associated with women accused of
witchcraft. I break that down as meaning that
if you worship the devil, you are evil and evil
is ugly.
Well, I have to say, I never
saw Sam as being ugly.
The creed of today's witch~
I was once told by someone I know that
actually, practices the craft, that I
am a Lightworker.
A what?
Is that a witch of a sorts? Well, you know
me, I went looking for answers.
Lightworker ~ a soul that incarnates with the purpose
of bringing healing, love and light
to the world. Lightworkes often feel called
to help others, raise the vibration of humanity,
and serve as a spiritual guides or healers.
They focus on compassion, healing and energy work.
Driven by a sense of purpose and service and
they radiate peaceful, grounding and uplifting energy.
Now what is a witch~
A person that consciously works with
natural forces of the Earth and
the unseen world to shape reality, heal, and
connect the spiritual wisdom.
They work with the earth based magic and natures
energy. Follow lunar and seasonal cycles
and use rituals, spells and intentions to
create change, often reclaiming ancestral and past
life knowledge.
Lightworker fits me best.
I will admit, I am more spiritual than
religious, always have been.
I have always felt out of place in
a church, and I have tried many.
I do believe in God but also
feel that he can't fix it all.
We have to somehow, at some
point have control over ourselves
and our life.
I thought at one point I might
be a modern witch....haha,
image how I felt when I realized
I could not cast a spell!!
lol....anyway, I don't to rituals, or at least
not a lot. I don't use a candles, crystals (I do have
several), herbs (I do cook with them and I
do grow them), cards,
or boards. Why? My fear of letting something
inside and not being able to get it
to exit. Yes, I believe in the devil,
demons and spirits. I have lived
in a home that was haunted, by
a friendly spirit and I had no problem
with that, however, I would not want
to raise the veil between the worlds,
allowing evil in. You see, as a Lightworker,
I feel there is enough
evil already upon us.
Have you ever wondered if you
are a regular ole witch, a green
witch, kitchen witch, a lightworker
or a darkworker?
Do you know anyone that is?
Do you grow herbs, use them for cooking,
or for healing?
Enlighten us all, please.
May your energies light the
world and make it a better place,
Mote it be,
Pam
