Pick Pickard, Bye to August, Witchy Christmas, Crossing the Creek, Bats, Birds, Beckham, Evie and Sissy

Catchy sign...
haha....don't even ask me
who the mayor is now either..
not a clue.

WOW.....August sure did move
through really fast!
Here it is Sept. and the
fall season is knocking on the
door, then Halloween and
the holidays will be here.
Always heard this stuff flies
by the older you get, so
true.

CRAP....I
saw this the day after
I painted my Christmas card.

I have been thinking
of redoing the one I just painted, I
like the idea, but the pulling it off
just is not doing anything for me.
I will prob trash this
one and redo it by changing a few things.
My thought process is
still the same, I just have
to study my thoughts and
figure out how to do it.

Wed. evening, I had to drop
Braden out at the farm of a teacher
from his school. Braden has been going
through a rough time with
behavior and the teach and her
family mentor young boys. Wed. night
was his first time to go and
since he has to be there
before Amber gets home, Nana
took him. There apparently is
several ways into the property and
we took the longest (of course, we
did). HAHA..
It was an adventure cause you
see, I know I have talked
about my rural living out here,
I am not sure if I told you that
this county still has dirt and gravel
roads, we were on one.

I was busy meeting the
family and checking out things
so, I failed to take pics until I
was leaving.

Anyway, we traveled several
miles via this gravel/dirt road,
crossing the creek four times

stopping to watch deer and look at
old abandoned buildings.
When we got there we
were greeted by four lab looking
dogs and a long horn.
Nope, did not get a pic of him.

They also have donkeys

Once the leaves fall a
tad bit, where you can see more
things, I will grab my camera and
head on this journey again.

These are the types of places I
love to travel.

At the beginning of the spring
I noticed a bat or two flying around
the backyard. Thought is would be
cool to install a bat house.
Info on bats~

Between the bats and the
dragonflies, maybe I will have
few to none blood sucking bugs!

Migration of the birds has started.
Including Hummingbirds. Both feeders
are clean, filled and hanging outside.
I am ready. I remember last year
looking out to about 15 or so
flying around. I use these plastic
feeders, throwing them out
at the end of the summer and buying
new in the spring. Next year though,
I think I am going to purchase
some bottle ones. I really enjoy
watching them.
STOP, if you are about
to pack away your hummingbird
feeders, DON'T. Those little birdies
need places to stop and drink of
their travels south.

I know that a lot of
times a pic can say a lot of
things but the angle of the
camera can really make
things look different.
Like this pic.

Look at those chucky thighs!
But no mistaking that smile,
that is one happy baby!
He will be a yr old in Dec.
Just learned to crawl and
now, the chasing begins.

Nothing better than loving
on a chucky little boy like
this!

His sister gives great guys
also! She is the silliest girl,
I would say it is from my
blood, but she is not of my
blood!
Guessing I rubbed off on
her...

Was sitting here earlier,
about to write this
post when I got a text from
my ex -husbands cousin.
I have blogged about Kriste
before, how I went to sit with
her mom, Aunt Sissy a couple of
times before moving out this
way, so Kriste could get out
and do something. Aunt Sissy,
had Alzheimer's. Yes, I said,
had, the text I got was Kriste
telling me that Sissy passed away
last night.

Her battle to live each day,
not remembering what happened
the day before, an hour ago,
who people were, who her
own daughter caring for her
was. She is now at peace,
with her hubs, son, mom,
dad, sister and brother.
RIP Sissy.
We will all look out
for Kriste.

Pam
