Beckham, Droplets, Blooms, Duck Family, Water, Circle, Abandoned, Skeletons and More Abandoned

Oh my gosh look at this
adorable little chuck of a
boy!
Beckham will be a yr old in
Dec., and let's just say, he finally
found a personality. Of course, his
mom says he is the worst velcro baby
she has ever seen.

But look at that smile!

You folks know me well enough to
know that I photograph this and that,
and whatever, but I really like to
find the usual or something not everyone
is going to crawl around on the ground and
shoot.

Now seriously, whoever thought
drops of water could make such
neat pics?

Several days of rain after five
weeks of nothing, my yard loved
it. I actually had flowers bloom
again.

Oh, but the cutest thing I
saw when I grabbed my camera
and left the house was a mom
duck and two little ones
playing in the wetness of
a ditch.

A small bit of the way
down the road I live on you
cross over this.

I am pretty sure I have
mentioned before that in this
county, you can't venture down a road
without coming in contact with
a river, a stream, a creek or
a brook (whatever the difference is)....
This county is some massive plot
of clay like soil, mud and sandstone
rocks and water, except for an
actual lake.
Go figure.

I am also certain at some given
time that I mentioned
this southern hick county still
has roads that are not paved.
No, not driveways, or lanes,
actual roads. Well, on my riding
around last week I came
upon something new to me.
I ventured down a road, and
the road sign said "name of
road (I don't remember) and
then the word Circle."
I went down it, I should
have been shocked, but no I
was not really.

This is the circle in
in a subdivision off a main
road.

So not like the circles
I know. Living in a rural
area is an eye opener.

I have decided to get back
to my album, The Forgotten of
Hickman County", however it will
now be the Forgotten of Hickman, Maury,
Williamson and Dickson County".

This one is down my road
a bit. It is actually up for sale
now.
Not a surprise, lots of land on that
road is up for sale these days, so I
figure this will sell and then be
plowed under.

Most the places I locate are
off main roads, so it requires
a pull off in the driveway to shoot.
Yes, that is called trespassing so as
much as I would have loved looking
in a window or two, I did not.
I shot, I left.
This garage is just across the
street from the house.
Looking worn, and ragged, and
ready to fall at any time. Plus, there is
a drop off behind it.

Not far from the other
house is this place. Sits down
in a little bitty cove, around a curve and
the driveway, what is left of it,
is just, and I mean JUST past
the rail on the bridge you cross.

About six years ago a lot of
area in this county and others
around were flooded. Assuming since this
literally sits on a outstretched arm of
the Piney River, it got flooded.

I took this pic coming out
of the driveway at the
curling bridge.

See the rocks, that is where the
water runs.

Not sure what the building is,
surely not a shed since it would be
across the water from the house.

Again I shot from the drive to give you
some sort of an idea.

And an off center whacky shot
of the same house, that also shows
how close the water would be. The rocks
in that pic would actually be across the
water from the house.

HAHA....this house is
not abandoned, but let me state
it is also not being lived in by a bunch
of skeletons.
I have learned that I do somewhat
fit in with the theme of skeletons
to this area. This area of folks
love their skeletons. Matter of fact,
a couple of these guys stay out
all year long.

Just one more abandon home. I shared this
one about a yr ago but as I
was driving by, looking at the
dark clouds which to me are
saying impending rain, and
knowing this place
was abandoned due to the floods,
I had to stop and shoot.

I think, and I might, probably am wrong,
but I think this was
a home at one point. But, I don't
know. It was used in later years
for rehab. Only to flood and chase
all those folks off.
I even drove to the back
of this place.

This apparently was built
across the street for the
rehab center.
Also, abandoned after flooding.

Next to the church is the barn.
Flooded but still useable for hay
by whomever owns the land. And,
no, I have yet to look that up and
see about that question, and yes,
I will.

How do you think I learn
so much of my new living
area?

I don't call it nosey, I call it
being aware.
HAHA...and talking about being
aware guess what I learned a
few months ago.
Less then 2 mins from me,
there is a man on the sex offender
register. Aggravated rape!!!!
Oops, should have checked that
before my move.
I remember asking Amber once
what teens and young adults do
in this area, like I have said, over and
over again, there is nothing here.
When I looked at the register, I told
her, I know what goes on around here
when there is nothing to do.
So many sex offenders!!!!

Now to close with a haunting pic,
like the rehab home in front of this
pic, the tree is standing bare and dead of
life, abandoned,
only to look out and see
what it used to be
and wait to see what
it shall one day become.

Pam
