Wisdom, Socks, Funeral, Lily Bit

 Hello everyone!
I am so ready for the smell
of a good bonfire.
I know some folks would
think I am nuts for
saying this, but I
am ready for pants,
sweaters and boots!
Yeah, I know, I think I have
lost my mind also.
As for socks,
well, I have never really been
a fan. I know that sounds funny,
but I can remember growing up
and it being cold out, mom
getting onto me about putting
some on. I never could sleep in them,
I would somehow in the middle of the
night hook a toe into the other
one and pull them off.
As I was older, I would take
them off as soon as I came
through the door, right along
with my shoes.
BUT~
years ago, when I started through
menopause, I started having cold
feet, then losing 70 lbs, seemed
to add to the coldness.
Funny thing now, I wear them in
the house in the summer.
I will even coat my feet in
vaseline and put them on
to sleep in, waking to soft feet.
Over the years I have managed
to build up a big collection of
socks.

A few years ago I bought a
three drawer, wide plastic on
wheels storage holder for my
socks.
They were just taking up way
too much room.
I have holiday socks for
the different holidays and I
also have fun socks.

Even ones for bringing in the
new year!
Drinking socks...

I do have a few pair of
solid black socks, just cause, just
like that black little dress women
need, they need those black socks also.

So, let me let you in on a secret,
I had nothing to blog about today,
then while typing about bonfires,
sweaters and such, I looked at my nicely
covered feet!
BAM, an idea came to me...

Saturday, Amber came over and
helped with cleaning.
2.5 months, heat, depression,
and not picking things up or
cleaning anything, I needed help.
I have company coming in this
weekend, it was a must for sure.

My cousin Kathy and her
hubs are coming in.
They have tickets in Nashville
at the Grand Ole Opry for
a concert on Friday night. When
they leave there, they are coming
to my house.
This is Kathy.

I learned last yr that she
has MD,
macular degeneration. That
has to be horrible.
Kathy is two years older
than I am.
This woman wears me
out. She always has. She
goes nonstop in actions and
her mouth. haha.
Even when I was told
by friends that I was
"the cleaner from hell",
Kathy still worked circles around me.
It will be fun to have
her here.

This is my uncle Jerry,
Kathy's dad. He is 83 and a
great, great grandaddy.
He looks amazing.

On Monday evening,
Amber and I drove
to Nashville to attend
the visitation for her
great aunt, Sissy.
Then Tuesday, we went
back to the funeral.
It is a shame that
life is so busy family
only see each other when
they lose a loved one.
However sad as it was,
it was nice to see my
ex family members again.

But, I was tired when I
got home so Lily
Bit and I curled up
and took nap.

Lily sure does know
how to get comfy,
throws those legs right
out over my leg and
goes to sleep.

Hoping your week is
a good one so far,
Pam
