 ED the Zebra lives on!
Through children's books.

HAHA
I love it. I am sure
that the family that purchased
Ed in TX. to bring to TN,
to his new home never thought
this would happen.

I know my post at times,
okay, all the time are full
of lots of random stuff.
My head is a mass of random
stuff. Right now, my insides
feel all wiggly and all over
the place which always puts my
thoughts the same way.
When I get this way, I can't
normally stay on topic but when
I blog I try hard to not bounce
from this to that and back to
the begin. If I do, please forgive me.

Moving on....Thursday I was in the
yard when the owner of the two
dogs on the other side of
neighbor was out as well as
her dogs. I don't mind dogs,
I was raised with them.
I however cringe at large
dogs being wild. My balance is
always in question and all it
would take would be one jump
on me to take me down.
These two are full of energy.
I had to turn my back on them
several times to stop them
from jumping on me while I
talked with the owner.
Sugar, the light color Golden
Retriever is about three, loves
to come to my yard and bark
at me. Silly.
The black lab is just a puppy
and I am afraid she is loving
the wild running.

After they left the yard I
noticed that my bee/bird
bath was missing a bird.
WHAT?
I looked around and I
never located it.
I figured one of the pups must
have taken it.
No biggie, a buck each is
all they cost.
However, when upon returning
from my trip to Nashville on
Friday, I noticed the red bird gone.
My first thought,
"Okay, who is F'ing with me"?
Then again, my thoughts
went to the
dogs.

I looked around and found the bird,
and if you notice, the tail a tad space
away.

So funny.

That same Thursday I made
my venture around the yard.
I saw something crawling
around and I took a shot with
my cell but I did not kneel down
to check it out. And it was not until
I blew it up and posted on
FB that I found out what it was.
A long lost, well, not really lost,
but a distant cousin I never knew
about but found via Ancestry.com
said this about my find,
"Asian Giant Hornet, not supposed to be
here, invasive species."
GREAT!!
Then he sent this message,
If an Asian giant hornet is found in
Tennessee, it should be reported to the
Tennessee Department of Agriculture.
Specifically, contact the State apiary inspector
or your local UT Extension agriculture agent.
You can find the contact information for your
county's UT Extension office online. It is also recommended
to take photos of the hornet and email them
 to tn.agriculture@tn.gov

Crap, now I need to take care of that
even though it has been days later.
Okay, writing about this reminded me
to report...DONE!

During my trip to Nashville the
other day, I dropped this off
at Deana's house, on the path
leading to her garden for her
to find later.

This pic was posted on my page
with a thank you.
I had noticed she did not have
any gnomes in her garden.
Could that be cause gnomes
of little tricksters? Maybe she
don't want them in her garden...
OOPS on my part!

Since I can't seem to stay on
task, even with posting, I am
going to share some pics
I took with the big camera
while out and about.
Spiderwort
(at least this is
a spider I don't mind)

This shot is blurred but I
was trying to catch that look.

Summer Fishfly,

Google shows me that the spider
below is a Porrhothele Antipodiana, a black
tunnelweb spider. Native to New Zealand.

According to Google the
insect below is a Phidippus Audax,
a bold jumping spider. I thought it
was a moth, and had it jumped
on me, I would have
crapped my pants!

Some strange looking insects
in these parts for sure.

I am done. Gotta do something
in this house today....
gotta,
       gotta,
           going,
Pam

Love the pups and I hate it when pups jump on you. Don't care for it at all.

Yikes on that spider. I would have reacted the same way you did.

Have a fabulous day and week, Pam. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to the kitties. ♥

I'm fairly phobic when it comes to dogs, and it seems like I always end up in situations where someone has dogs, and the dogs jump up on people. I always cringe, and they always say it's no big deal. So, I'm always anxious around energetic big dogs. Because in my experience, they always jump up on me. Although, as I get older, I think that the people with the dogs are at fault. If they can't control their dogs, they should put them away around strangers (a bedroom or the backyard or something).
I do like the cover of the book, Ed the zebra has a wonderful smile.

All the best Jan

Funny about the birds.
That really was a quick turnaround for the zebra book. I used to have dogs too but I have a low tolerance for owners who don't train their sweet pups to be polite.

That giant hornet is quite something. You did the right thing to report it.

So glad you reported the giant hornet! They need to stay on top of that situation!!!!!
I like dogs. But I don't want dogs jumping on me either. I do not have great balance and I am terrified they will knock me down. I do not understand why people don't try to control their jobs.

I get a daily email with news stories and one of them was about Ed. He's quite famous.
