Morning Tour, Steaming Fall of Hearts, ET, Spiderweb and Challenge

 Morning folks.
I did my tour around the front
yard, mostly, with coffee in hand.
thought I would share some of
my pretties.
However, I ask that you overlook
the messy porch.
Work still to do in the yard
and once done I will clean
and pressure wash it.

I picked up the large candle
holder at the Helping Hands
thrift store up the street on a
Tuesday, which is 1/2 off day.
I got this baby for 2 bucks and I
knew exactly what it was going
to be used for.
I E6000 glued a wire basket I
had to the candle holder and
bought a coconut liner for plants.

Next, some time back I picked up
this iron piece for 4.99 at
Goodwill. Same, I added the liner
and planted the plants for the
front porch.
Here is one of the plants I got
from Deana, on my run to
my old stomping grounds last
week. It is a Foxglove.
Opps, at this view you don't get
a shot of the water of beads
streaming out of the pitcher.
Water streaming out to
water the plants.
I dug these up a month or so
ago from the yard, they still
remain in bloom. These are
of course, a wildflower or to some
a weed. It gave something in
bloom to a yard that had
nothing. Did you know, that
there is a law in TN that prevents
you from picking or digging
up wildflowers? HAHA
but this was in my yard to
begin with.

This is just one of the Elm
trees I found and planted in
a pot. In the fall, before cold
sets in, I will plant in the yard.
This one seems to be holding
its own.

White sage. Also, from
Deana.

Still my favorite set up as
far. I had the sedum in a pot
from when I moved from my long
time owned home my childhood and
never replanted it. It does well in
a pot so I have left it.
I did pull up a bit and put around
the mailbox.

My mom had some of this growing
on the side of the house, she
called it "Live Forever" cause
apparently, it is hard to kill.
I must admit, I have not killed it
EVER!!
This type of sedum grows sprouts
from it that will turn either
rusty red or pinky purple.
Not sure which on I dug up.
The story I heard many, many,
(and I could go on and on about
the amount of "MANY's), is that
this plant will shoot out stems and
bloom with whatever color you have
two weeks before we have our
first cool spell in the fall.
I have found it to be pretty much
on that schedule.

Later, I will put shoes on and
go tour the rest of the yard.
It is coming along, slowly but
unlike the old me, I move slow
these days.

This is really cool...
A streaming water fall of hearts.
Nice. I thought I would make a
heart shape rock bed for my hearts but
after seeing this....maybe not.

Nature is so funny with its humor.
So, I will continue with that and say,
that I don't think ET made it home.
I found him in my dirt.

Took this pic the other morning
on my tour of the yard. YES, I do
a tour daily to see what is growing and
blooming. HAHA
Anyway, I caught the dew still
covering this spider web.
Sending out a challenge to all~
while out walking around the
lake, beach, neighborhood or
like me, the yard, look down and
find a rock. Let's shoot for a heart
shaped rock but if not that, a rock
that reminds you of something else,
like ET! Share it with us all.

Your thought for the day is~
think happy thoughts. If something
hits you wrong, try to find something
happy about it. Don't let the negative rule
you.

Pam

Love your idea of potted plants and I agree sedum lives for ever. The bugs love it when it is in flower. Keep well, cheers Diane

You are still getting more done than I am. It may feel slow to you, but you're getting it done. That's great.

You've been busy in the yard. I wish I was better at gardening.
