Wake Up, Vet Trip, Trying to Take over the Wild

 Friday morning, I had
coffee with this ass,
brat. It was like she
knew Misty was not
feeling well and she
kept jumping her.
The morning before,
she wanted her mom.
She wanted to be petted,
brushed, chased, brushed,
nap near me...
no clue what that was about,
but Friday morning,
it was a total change.

However, after returning from
the vets, she sniffed Misty
all over and left her alone.

Misty kept going to the
litter box constantly, looking
like she was having a hard
time peeing.

The vet tried to
squeeze some out of her
to see if there was an infection,
but was unable to. Because
she is not a repeat UTI cat,
he figures it is just
an infection so she is
on meds now. Steroid for
the burning and meds
for the infection. I will
be watching her to see how
things go. If not better soon
she will be going back.

However, due to Misty
not liking to ride,
I had to hold her all
the way to the vets.
If not, she cried that
low, pitiful cry.

Not the best at one
hand driving, but we
managed, to and from.

That is one spoiled baby.

But what can you expect!
Even in my arms she would
cry out from time to
time, saying ma ma.
Breaks my heart.

Today is Saturday,
Misty seems to feel
okay, seems to be peeing
better, with blood.

But the girls and I are
hanging around. I am staying
inside. Days of going strong,
in beautiful temps,
stress of Misty not feeling
well, and coming in
contact with something in
the yard has me down today.
Whatever I came in contact with
has me having to take a
low dose of steroid,
which is something I usually
avoid taking. Because of the
info I had when I had my
gastric bypass, it is also a
med to stay away from.
However, as bad as I had
gotten, delaying a run to
Fast Pace, I needed that med.
I was not going to post my past
week of dealing with this crap
because I know you all have to
shake your head thinking crap
just happens to me.
Yes, it does. I have had skin
issues all my life and to prove that,
this happened.

Actually, several weeks ago I
developed a rash on my forearms,
and in the bend of my left arm.
It had to have come from
caring around the branches and
limbs that I was cleaning up in
the backyard. It was itchy,
causing some small sores on
my forearms but the bend of the
arm remained a rash, never spreading.

Then came the fire ant attack.
After a couple of days, those
healed just fine.

Tuesday, I worked in the yard,
planting, moving things,
pick up other stuff. That evening
I developed whelps on my face.
Whelps not showing up well in
pics.
I counted 15 whelps on my face
and chin. Whelps in clusters and
hard to tell. There were actually
three bumps above my eye, causing
swelling and then the ones on
the cheek were swelling.

 Looked like mosquito bites. Only,
these whelps were in clusters all over
the face. Not a normal for
those blood suckers.
I kept taking my allergy pills
and coating myself with itch meds.

Friday morn I woke with a rash of
bumpy bumps on my arm, spreading
to my lower neck.

I was talked into going to a
walk in. I did.
The diagnosis is not
blood suckers, not
poison ivy, but apparently
something, and not telling what
I came into contact with that
I am allergic to.
Conclusion ~
Moving to rural country life on
a spot that used to be covered
in woods, has not been
good for me. Taking over the
wild is doing a number
on me. From now on, I will
need to have my arms, and
maybe legs covered, plus my
hands, and don't go rubbing
my face!!
I think I need a KEEPER!

Do you have skin issues?
What have you had to deal
with, in terms of your skin?
Pam

Yikes. I'm sorry. I hope you figure out what you're reacting to so you can eliminate it or avoid it. Take care.
Poor Misty, I sure hope she feels all better soon, you too!

Good luck on the rash

Hope Misty is better soon.
Glad you went to the walk in clinic. Not that they really gave you and definite answer but you got that it was an allergic reaction which I'm sure you already knew. Keeping covered outside sounds like a good idea for future yard work

Oh dear, I am sure those skin issues are itchy as well but do not scratch. I always have a problem with bugs here. they do not seem to bite anyone else but I get eaten alive! I hope Misty is also on the mend . Take care, Diane

I am sorry for all your issues; that's got to be depressing. ~hugs~ Incidents have popped up numerous times throughout my life whether from plants or insects or who-knows-what. ~lol~ My skin problems never lingered long, though, and I now cover my arms, legs, and wear gloves when working outside.

My recent discovery of sun and wind resistant clothing has been great. I'm considering buying this: https://www.amazon.com/Soothfeel-Protection-Running-Outdoor-Performance/dp/B09657C6YN/ref=sr_1_21_sspa?sr=8-21-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGY&psc=1
Hope Misty is better soon and you too.
Sending good wishes.

All the best Jan

Oh Pam, I'm so sorry you came in contact with something that you were allergic to. Working outside we get all kinds of bugs and debri and leaves, so you never know what we'll come in contact with. I'm glad you're doing a little better with all of this. Sometimes I wear plastic gloves too when I do the outside yard work. That also helps with prickly stuff we're picking up.
