Good morning fellow followers!
It seems like my Sunday is going
to be a beautiful day here in TN.
High of 73, but a nice cool 73.
No rain. And I have a yard that is
calling to be cut. Hope to get done
with my coffee, get dressed and
head out to do that.
But first I have to have my blog
time and FB surfing, I just gotta
keep an eye on the clock and
not waste hours.

I thought today I would comment
to comments on my other
post.
Ann commented to
my cat door post with this.
That is an impressive job on the
cat door. Hope they decide they want
to use it. Your brother is too funny. Pink eye...lol

HAHA Ann, you are right, Mark is
a mess. Isn't it funny how sibling's
can be so different even when raised
with the same parent.
Ray (oldest), no sense of humor at all.
Serious, hard to get close to.
Closed off. Needs to be in control.
Me (middle), aw hell, I think y'all know
me a lot. I think I have a sense of humor
and I love to make others laugh.
Mark (the baby) sense of humor,
but most times it is sarcastic and dry.
I am closer to him then Ray,
always have been.

Isn't that a strange place to build a nest?
She is referring about the part in
a post about the bird nest about
the part of my carport.
Sheri ~ not really, these are
"come" back visitors from last
yr. The thing about it though is
if I don't pull the car in far enough,
they crap all down the back of
my car. I had planned on
cutting some pool noodles
and slicing down one side to
place over those bars to prevent
this from happening but I have
not picked up my ladder, at
Mark's house and brought it up
here yet. And I do need that.

Darla stated that she was
impressed with my skills with
setting up the cat door in the
window. Thanks Darla.
I decided that my electric bill
would do better with me
keeping the door shut
and not allowing heat in
and air out. With the cost of
crap these days, I can use the help.
Oh yes and to reply to your question,
WHELP is my southern way for
saying welt.

About a month ago I posted
issues with changing my stay
awake meds and the issues I
was having. On the newer med I
think we finally got a new dose
that helps me stay awake but now
I am dealing with issues of
not being able to go to sleep
at night. With that, here were
my bed buddies last night while
I kept thinking about
SLEEP.

And yes, they were both in
the bed together. Such a treat,
that does not happy often.

I went out touring the yard
on Saturday, something I actually
do daily. I check out my
plants, and I love to see if any
of my seeds are coming up.
Just a
WALK ABOUT!

Look what I spotted

I am keeping an eye out for
fire ant hills. CRAP, I know
more than treat one then there
is another one.
This one went up overnight,
I figure around 10 inches round.
I just keep my bag of Terro
granules on the front porch for
easy access. You can see this one,
I have already treated, before I
remembered to snap a pic.
Hoping to check it this morn,
and they are dead.
Little devils.

When I moved into my new home,
the door was painted black which
matched the shutters. I used to think
that the shutters had to
match the door, but I don't
think so, so much now.
When I moved in the first thing
I did was put my favorite saying
on the front door.
Anyway, I wanted to paint
my door which lead to more
decisions~ Paint over my
saying? Try to paint around the
letters, closely.
I decided to make a box
around the saying which
would leave the background
black. But I think it works.
What do you think?

Oh yes, I went with purple on
the door!! lol
I went with a deep dark color,
making it a subtle change but
giving me the color I wanted.

We have gotten away from a lot
of the ole wives tales that maybe
our grandparents or great grands
believed in. I have not heard
of this before but it is worth trying.
Guess I need to locate a pinecone
or two.

1. A Natural Weather Predictor

Pine cones have an incredible ability to respond

to changes in humidity. They open up when
the air is dry and close tightly when moisture levels are high.
This reaction makes them an excellent natural weather indicator.

How It Works:

  • When the pine cone opens, it indicates dry weather with low humidity.
  • When the pine cone closes, it signals rain or high humidity is on the way.
There are six more reasons, you can
look that up here. Why You Should Hang A Pine Cone Near Your Garden
Speaking of
gardening,
On Monday I
ventured to Lebanon,
way on the other side
of my old stomping grounds.
I have a friend that that
has a garden of all
types of things.
She had a load of
plants for me.

YAY....will share later.

I love you and your kitties. So precious.

Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Scritches to the girls. ♥
Those were good answers. Oh no, those fire ants are evil. The Mrs ended up in the ICU a few years back due to fire ant attacks!

I never knew that about pine cones either. I think my daughter has some at her house. I will have to pick one up.

I like how your door turned out. I don't think there was a wrong answer to that, though. You could have painted over it and repainted it. But this way it looks more like a plaque on the door.

I've heard that about pinecones but I've never done it. Your door turned out great. Love the color.
