Red Creeping Thyme, Can you See Me, Cloudy, Radar, Temp Blankets vs Other Items

Well, I am liking the no
mow part of it!
But not having to water daily, repels
blood suckers, and feeds bees, the
cost of getting enough to cover my
yard might be worth it, esp if
I planted slowly over the
next few years.

And it blooms the most
amazing color in the spring!

I have read this several
times over the last
few years, and you know
me well enough to know
that I would do it.
I just need to remember
it.

Well, Saturday morning,
the sun came up but it
was not shining as you
can see, or if he was,
the clouds were blocking
it out.
Yes, I have pots scattered all
over the walk and on the
porch. I am having to wait
till the storms and rain are
gone so that Ben can
get over here to spread
topsoil before I can make
any flowerbeds. I am doing flowerbeds,
but even in those beds, I
will prob just place pots.

So far today, I think I
have had one small rain come
in, but this is what we
are looking at again
for the day.

Like being on a rollercoaster,
riding the wind over and over
again. Maybe after tomorrow,
we can have some sunny
days for a bit.

Explaining my temp blanket
some more. One reason I went
with doing my bday for 65 yrs and
not the 365 days is because
of what I saw online.
Some of the longest blankets
I have ever seen.

This is not what I wanted.
The one above in squares is
nuts, that is Jan, Feb and March.
What the hell are they planning
to cover with that?

Anyway, some folks are doing
some really cool pieces.
Temp cross stitch pieces and
not blankets.

Calendars~

This is to be some sort
of wall hanging.

Now this blanket is so cute.

But check these out.

These would be great for
stuffed animals, to lay on
the bed or to put at the
door in the winter to block
out cool air.

I really like the snakes!!

What about you? What
do you like better?

Mine is coming along nicely.
Thanks for the suggestions on
what to do to make mine longer.
I loved the suggestion of
more than one row of each
daily color BUT, I was
too far along to rip out
what I would have had to
take out and I did not want
to be doing that.
A thicker border, I do
plan on bordering this
but thinking it will
take a BIG WIDE
border so prob not going
that route. However,
heading to my old stomping
grounds Monday for
a doc appt. and I am taking
my piece with me to go
to Hobby Lobby and match
something to what I have and
just do a center part to go between
highs and lows.

Thinking of doing the year
the great grands were born,
Jan. thru Feb. into
a snake for all four of them.
That would be cute.

I prob need to get my rear
moving and since the sun
is out and its not raining,
I need to go clean
my front porch.

Have a great day,
Pam

I've been seeing posts about the thyme in your yard too. I wonder how it would do in the shade. Our grass is going away and we just seem to grow a lot of moss!
There are some crazy ideas for temperature blankets but some pretty cool ideas too. I love that flower wall hanging one!

That creeping thyme is really pretty. I can just imagine what a whole yard of that would look like
Those super long blankets are a bit crazy.

Those snakes are cute, for sure. And what you (no doubt correctly) take to be a wall hanging looks amazing. Normally I enjoy rainfall but wanting to plant some cold tolerant vegetable plants makes me want things to dry out some. ~sigh~ Be well, my dear.
Such bright and colorful photos today, even the weather radar!

Yes, the snake is a good idea. And I love the cross stitch ideas, too.
