Chickasaw Trace State Park, Heart Hunting, and Piney River,

A couple weeks ago I headed
to Columbia Tn. and I stopped
at a local park,
Chickasaw Trace.
WOW...
what a beautiful place.

Poor babes home
did not make it.

Not looking like the egg
made it either.

The view through the
breezeways window.

I moved on from the house
to the riverbank at the boat
ramp. I saw my first heart of the
day.

And then another one.

But this was the best,
side by side, nestled in
together in a snuggling hug.

The pic does not show off
the colors and the AW of
this view.

I have been out to the
Piney River twice in the last
couple of weeks.
This trip was a few days
after having some flooding in
our area.
I have recently gotten into
Rock Hounding and I just knew
it would be amazing out there.

Here is the Piney River heart
love that people locate and
leave behind.

This is where I got my idea of
making a heart shaped bed with my
found hearts in them.

Cool hag stone...I see
 the opening as an eye,
the nose is just down
 to the right of the
 eye, the mouth below
it and the chin that jets out

You ever wonder what made those
prints on the fossils? I do, plus, how
long ago.

Another hag stone.

Course I could not help
but have some fun while at the
river, and do some design!

Rocks are amazing, different sizes,
colors, shapes, fossils or not, made
of minerals or sand, just so cool.

You can look at a fossilized
rock and even see the
little sea creature that made it.

I know I have told this before,
but TN was billions or millions
or however many years ago,
covered by sea water.

Now this rock, not really anything
but a mud stone, but do you see
what I see?

Guess I better tell you
what I see.
I see a mini frozen in time
dino head! lol
Eye, and a mouth full of teeth.

Most times I see hag stone in
odd shaped. Never seen one
all round!

Pretty good size too, it is
sitting on my leg at the bend
of my knee.

Since you read my blog,
then I am going to take you along
every time I go
Rock Hounding!
We can learn together.

Have a heart hunting day,
Pam

I imagine you'll learn quite a bit about geology on your rock hunting trips. Have fun!

Those hag stones are pretty neat. I've never seen one before until you posted them here. I saw the same thing in that one rock as you did, a dinosaur.
It is amazing what is out there just laying on the ground if you just take the time to look!
