Bottle Trees, Lily and the Cat Cave, Clothesline, Flagpole, and the CoLd

 I have always like bottle
trees and I have seen them
made several different
ways. Mainly like this.

Or this..

Then I saw this on FB.
Funny thing, I saw one like this
in a yard on Saturday. First time
to see them made hanging
like this. I love it.

On Monday I was folding
clothes, that have been
sitting in baskets in my room
when I looked up and saw this
⟱⟱⟱⟱⟱⟱

My hoodie was laying
on the end of the bed, and
Lily crawled right up into
the hoodie from the bottom of
it and laid down.

A bit later, Misty
wanted to check out
Lily's CAT CAVE.

Silly girls.

I have been seeing this
on FB and wanted to share.
My mom grew up during the
depression and I am sure that
her mom had no choice but to
hang her clothes out. I know
as a child, granny did hang clothes out
so maybe
her younger years of caring for
kids of the 30s and hanging them out
carried through to her older age.
I know it carried through to
my mom. It was a given,
esp with sheets, they needed
to be hung on the line.
Matter of fact, mom was still
doing it right into her
80s. When I moved into her
home, I used those same
poles and lines. Unlike
my mom though, it was not
a thing I felt I needed to
do cause of my life but it
was something I enjoyed on
given days. Like mom, I
loved the stiff feel of the sheets
and the smell of the other
other clothes.

The only rule I remember my
mom having was,
"just let me do it"!!

When I moved a year ago
from mom's house, I needed
to take something with me,
and looking out into the backyard,
I knew the clothesline had
to go with me. Well, not the
lines the poles. My younger
brother came over to dig them
up and they were concreted in
the ground, so we had to cut
them off at the ground. As much
as I love certain things about
hanging clothes out to dry,
I don't have that gene that
says, "I have too".
I did not get them in the ground
last summer but I will this
coming year. I either plan on
hanging bird feeders on them or
hanging my hammock on them.

With that, I also wanted to bring
something of my dads. I decided on
a pole also. His flag pole.
Again, not in the ground yet,
but it will happen. Same as before,
concreted in the ground and when
we cut it off, we measured down
to the concreted part, not counting
the actual amount in the concrete, but
the rest in the ground measured
2 feet. Going to be a tad shorter
when flying a flag here.

I think I will have a crafty
creative flag and flag it
but on special holidays, I
would fly the red,
white and blue.

A whopping 8 degrees on
Wed. morn. Had to cut on
emergency heat cause the regular
heat was lagging behind about four
degrees.
OH MY GOSH!
Talk about cold.
What has it been like this
week where you live?
Stay safe and warm.

On the note of it
being so freak'n cold,
the girls have not been
out on the deck in
about a week. Lily
is sitting at the back
door yelling at me
to go out now.
Not happening.

And what about
the beaches in
Panama City Beach Fla
being white, and not with
sand!
SNOW!
I have a friend there,
in a chat with him
last night, he said it has
been since 1986 that they
have had snow, and at
that point, they were looking
at 3 to 4 inches on the ground.

CrAzY!

Pam
