The Middle Child, The Oreo
I saw this on FB....
There is always things you read about on the first born, then there is
the baby, but not often do you find something on the middle
child! I am a middle child,
I am an Oreo and I love this.
The middle child always gets a bad rap,
but they’re nothing short of amazing.
The middles are what holds the family together.
They’re the sweet, creamy filling of the Oreo.
They’re the peanut butter and jelly between the sibling sandwich.
They’re the sibling bridge between the eldest and the youngest.
They’re forced to give in to the youngest or have things snatched from their hands by the oldest.
They’re getting dragged along eating snacks,
napping in car seats,
or only wearing hand-me-downs.
But we see them even when our eyes and ears are drawn to their siblings because they need our immediate attention.
But our attention is constantly prepared to shift to them whenever they need,
no matter their age,
wherever they are,
and no matter how many people are distracting us.
The Oreo would never be the same without the creamy filling,
the sandwich would be boring without peanut butter,
and our family would be lost without them.
We hope they know how loved, cherished, and important they are.
