Cash

 Written by Cash's mom.

First and foremost, Cash is home. He did a great job during transport, got to see SO many people who love him and had a very good night's rest.

I am so blessed y'all....Cash's transport home was FAR beyond my wildest dreams. What I expected to be a terrible experience was made so special by the people who love us and our hometown heros who have come to love Cash. When we landed at Tri-Cities Airport the tarmac was full of local law enforcement, EMS, Fire & the TN Highway Patrol. Not only did they meet him there, they escorted him all the way home as if he was a king! No stop signs or red lights for this kid!! I've truly never seen anything like it. If you know any of the amazing people who were in my home last night or part of his transport parade PLEASE tag them or give them a BIG hug so that they will know how much we love and appreciate them. They made my Mama heart so happy.
Then, when we got home my brother & his amazing wife had decorated inside and out to welcome Cash home. I love them both so much. We had all of our immediate family here to welcome him home which made this part of our journey so much easier. I was also surprised to see that my amazing Aunt Martha & Uncle Jerry were already here from IN (pretty sure they can teleport). I am just so thankful for them as they have ALWAYS been by my side in good times and in bad. We love each of you endlessly.
Cash was visited by the Ballad Hospice team last night to make sure he was all settled in and comfortable with the pain management we currently have. They will be by daily to check on us as needed. Today we are planning for lots of rest and family time!!
Thank you so so SO much to everyone who was here and part of Cash's welcome home. Also, to everyone who has donated, signed up to bring a meal, sent Birthday cards/gifts, said prayers, cried with us and send all their well wishes...we appreciate you more than we will ever be able to express.
To our St. Jude family, both medical and our battle buddies. Thank you for helping us along the way. We love you all so much!
I hope to have more happy times to share with you in the coming days. Please keep our family in your prayers. We love you all!

Thank you for the prayers for Cash and his family.
Pam

A very touching letter.
Our love and prayers are headed to Cash and his entire family. It makes my heart ache with what you are dealing with. We don't even know Cash but we do love him from afar.
