Week Recap - Crane, Outfit, Witches Hat, Chicken, Birdhouse, Gas

Last month I had the little spell when I thought I needed to call mom and tell her I was going to a paint class. Weekend before last I had another moment when I was on the deck and I hear a distant barking sound, sounded like the bark ring on my phone...then it hit me, that ring was used for my mom. The bark sound came again and I realized it was back up the street a ways.

tuesday driving home from work, coming in the subdivision I started around a curve, there was a white car coming towards me, for a split second I thought it was mom. Its like all of a sudden, there are all these things. I feel like mom is reaching out to me for some reason.. I just can't figure out why. I wished I understood this stuff more.

Nashville~

Or should I say the state of Nashville. Cranes all over.

On Tuesday I went to work. I have to admit it is nice to go somewhere that I can dress and not wear baggy blue jean shorts and t-shirts!

Then I was asked to come back in on Wed. We are producing a office video that will be sent to all state departments. Reminding them of what we do and to encourage them to seek us out for their photo needs.

I left after the filming. Splicing and what not was going to take place so just in case I needed to up date my portion or a piece of my portion Theresa wanted to remind me of what I was wearing and on Tuesday I need to wear it again. This is my "you got to be kidding me look"....haha directed at T! All in fun.

In case you did not know, Halloween is my fave all time holiday. Has been for as long as I can remember.  My go to dress up outfits have either been my clown or my witch. Clown has basically been the same for 30 or more yrs. My witch however has changed as the years go by.

With that being said. ....I love witch hats.
I picked both these up at Dollar Tree yesterday.

A couple weeks ago I cleaned out my sock drawer, which by the time I got all my socks out of boxes since the move has become TWO sock drawers.
I have a problem!!!!
And yet I bought these the other day!!!!

I have stated before that I am not a cook. I do not like to cook, I do not like to clean up after I cook. But I love to bake! It is really becoming scary how much I have been cooking. On that note let me tell you, I am a red meat eater. I am not totally fond of chicken and I like fish fried. But with the price of beef these days I am trying more chicken. I am trying more ways of fixing chicken and I made a commitment to myself that I would try one new chicken dish a week.
Last week it was Parmesan Crusted chicken which I liked. This week it was a honey Dijon mustard and lemon dish.

And I made some garlic roasted carrots to go with it.

Chicken was okay. Not a meal I think I will do again but I am not a fan of honey so I think that is what I dislike about this dish.
If I did it again I would just use the mustard and forget the honey.

In making my carrots this is what I encountered when I went into the bag!

Dancing leg carrots!!

I had long country type shelves up in my other kitchen and I decorated them with tins. I have some collectors tins and I have decided that they will not be used here. I tried selling them and apparently know one is in need of them SO I have decided to make birdhouses out of them.

James wanted to show me how to work with metal with the drill press so I took one over there.

The hole was drilled smaller then I needed but once it was done we snipped around the hole and bent the edges inside and I put silicone on those edges to prevent a bird from getting hurt.

James put holes in the side up top and through
the lid to hang it by. That way, after a bird moves out I can go clean out the old nest and have it ready for the new tenants.

Had to fill up the other day and I have to say, I am loving these prices.

Well it is Thursday morning at 73 degrees at 7:39 am on my deck in Hermitage. Our high for the day is going to be 84 but with low humidity. See in TN. it is not the heat that is the worst it is the humidity. The leaves on my walnut tree are turning yellow. Interesting note ~ the walnut tree is the last of the trees in the yard that puts out leaves and it appears to be the first to start turning.

Last night I posted an interesting post, oh wait, sorry Lily posted an interesting post on the furs blog. Worth a read so jump over and check it out.
Lily will be happy to hear from you.

I heard oil is not doing well as people aren't driving that much these days. A good thing. The chicken looks delicious.
Strange, but you Mom is sure trying to tell you something. Maybe it was to keep away from those tomato worms!

LOL, dancing legs carrot. That's cute.
I'm jealous of those gas prices. It's $2.59 a gallon here.

Ah, my dear, you're not crazy as for lost comments on my humble blog. I just get so busy that some days I don't even log on (!) and fail to check for new posts. Take care, my dear.

Yeah, your mom is probably trying to communicate. Tell her you hear her. Ask her what she wants. The message should come through.

You've seen my witch headband, haven't you?

Hey Pam! I hope you are doing well :) You know it does sounds like your mom is trying to tell you something. About a month ago I kept having reoccurring dreams about my granddaddy. I felt as if he were trying to tell me something. I look at it as positive sign. He's been gone for 15 years. I still miss him very much.

PAM---ONLY YOU WOULD FIND DANCING LEG CARROTS, of all things!! haha LOL, I was laughing over that picture!!I love the cute new birdhouses you made, fun idea! So MANY times I will see or hear something and reach for my phone to call my Mom and say "did you see such and such?"---then I quickly remember no.......that won't be happening. I just miss her so terribly and I know you are missing your Mom too. It's hard.
