Memorial Day

This morning I sat
on my deck enjoying
a cool 76 degrees and listening
to the birds singing all
around me.

I have my trusty side kick with me
as always. He is honoring
Memorial Day
by wearing his Red, White and Blue.

To all the men and women whom
have given so much
to protect our country.

My Dad, who gave
22 yrs of his life to the Navy.

I thank you and all the others that
have protected our shores.

Bless you all.
Have a blessed Memorial Day.

Thanks for dropping in for a visit,

Birds in the Yard

 Hello friends.

This morning Dakota and I sat out on the
deck, it was a nice 71 cool degrees after
a night of storms and rain. The birds were
singing and flying around and it was
so peaceful.

In the pic above I am standing on the
deck looking into my Crepe Myrtle
at the bird house I hung a couple
months ago. I had been sitting there
listening to this one bird that
I was not sure what it was and
was not sure where it was
coming from. Then I saw her, on the
branch next to the bird house and
she was loud! She would speak out
and another bird, same talk as her
would speak up from in the
trees on the creek.

I then realized where that noise was
coming from....her and him.
Then I realized why. She flew from
branch to branch checking things
out before flying onto the bird house.

And then I realized I heard babies
too. I watched him and her
do this for a long time.
Such a pleasure.

Here is mom. Waiting, looking
and checking things out.

Then over to the house she went.

While watching them I realized
up above my head was
a  pair of male and female
red birds.
Beautiful.

Dakota and I headed to moms
and sat on her deck for a bit.

A week ago mom had a pair of
blue birds that had hatched their
babies in the birdhouse
below.

(sorry, back shot of the house)

Once the babies flew away, mom
and dad were gone also.

Mom and I sat on her deck and
discussed that no other birds
had moved in yet.
For years now, one set would move
out and another would move
in.

Mom went in and while I sat
there I saw movement
at the bird house.

A wren had gone inside and
had proceeded to take up
"cleaning house"!!
While inside I would see it
stick its head out and drop
something to the ground. I
noticed then that it was throwing
feathers out!

I sat in shock as I watched the
wren continue to clean
the bird house out!
I busted out laughing and
got some funny looks
from the dogs!
So funny, never knew that
a bird would clean house!

Thanks for stopping in for a visit,

Sleepless Night/Critter with Wings/Rain

So last night was one
of those nights that sleep
would not come.

So I finished reading a book
I had started.

Then I decided to paint.
Simple yet adorable.
Everyone on Facebook is
loving this painting.

Then I decided to get a bit
WILD!
Yesterday I was walking into the
kitchen, I glanced up and
saw the hawk sitting on the
shed. Snuck out
to the deck and shot this.

I did venture out into the yard and
was doing great till I step out of
hiding from the front of the shed
and off he/she went!

Yesterday while meeting with
Debbie to pass off the
donated painting this
critter flew by.

So beautiful!
And it was big is size.

The other night I flipped channels
to HGTV - Bargain Hunting Beach
Front Property. This flashed
up on the screen.

A dog in a bikini!
HAHA....seen it all now I think.

I was working hard on 2017
Christmas ornaments and I
guess I got bored so I put them
down and today I have picked them
up again.

Been working on this one.
Any clues what this might be?

My brother is a Vanderbilt fan.
So it is a Vandy V.
Pretty cool huh?

Storms are rolling in from
West TN. today.
One went through earlier and
it was raining really hard.

Even more moving up and some
with tornado warnings.
Oh yay.....guessing I need to go
sat up Dakota and my spot.

Lived here 25 yrs. and had 3 go right
over the house. The first one
took my Crape Mrytle bush and twisted
it where it grew strangely for yrs.

The next were the tornados of 98.
First time we ever had it hit the
downtown area. Busting windows
out of bldgs. all over the place.
Went over the house and hit the front
of my subdivision.

The last one was about 4 yrs ago.
I was sitting here with the door
opening and watching things.
This terrible feeling calm came
over the house. Dakota knew
things were not right so when I picked
him up to move to our safe place
I got NO FIGHT from him.
Within seconds I heard that
sound.

That one took out the Dollar
General store 5 mins from the
house!

Anyway.....thinking I need to invest
in a weather radio for our local
area. I am on cable most days
and the reports don't come
over the cable stations.

When I looked out earlier when
it was raining so hard I realized
that since the budding of the trees are
done...it is time to clean the gutters.

Rain in the below pic is the spill
over from my gutter.

Ex boyfriends son is going to come
and clean those out for me.

Painitng - Angel

Back a while ago I
painted this painting
to give to my aunt.

I did not like it.
Never sent it.

So tonight I painted this
one for her.
I like this one better!

I also meet
with my friend Debbie
today to give her
this painting I did.
It is going to an auction to
raise money for the family
of Cash. He will be 4
Sunday but he has been fighting
cancer for a yr. now.
Cash is Debbie's cousin's
grandson.

I thought an angel was a great
piece to donate.

Garden Surprises

Good afternoon.

I have not been for a walk
around the yard in days.
But I grabbed the big
camera today and took a
stroll.

Here is a bloom off the
plant my daughter got me
for Mothers Day!

I love the color, the shape
just the whole look of it.

Yay...this was a surprise.
My first blooming Day Lily!

More Day Lilies to bust out.

My Hosta are getting
close to blooming!

I love the Lavender!

Another surprise when
I checked the yard.

My fav of all time bush
is about to bloom.
Hydrangeas!

The colors are amazing on my four
bushes. This one appears
to be pink but on the same
bush I usually have blue, and
purple blooms!
Hoping to have some great
blooms the year.
Last year these great bushes
did not even bloom at all.
2010 was an amazing year for them.
We had the floods the first of May
and the creek water did them wonders!

Now...this was a BIG surprise!
I think I planted this last yr. but
had forgotten!

HAHA....nope the next
pic was not a surprise!
But it was hanging there
so I shot it!

Thanks for coming by for a visit,

Finger/Blood Blister Update

Sometime ago I developed
a small tiny blood blister on my
right pinky finger.

While working in my room
moving things around
I ripped that small tiny
blister open.

I thought it would never stop
bleeding. Every time I went to change
the bandage it would bleed really
bad again.

Finally at some point it started
to heal. It looked like a normal sore
where it had a crusty area around
the sore. Once again, I hit it and ripped
it open again.

It started looking a tad different at that
point. From that point on it got larger
and it was really raised. Sort looked
like a brain developing on the
end of my finger..haha

I called and made an apt with
my dermo doc. They could not see
me for 2 weeks.
Last week I called and got on
the cancelation list.
But with it beginning to look worse and
worse I went on their website
and told them how bad it was
getting and wondered if I
could be seen sooner.

Today at one I got a call and
they wanted to see me at 3:10.

I got there early and was taken right back at 2:35.
I guess I find it funny that there was only
me and two other people in
the lobby and they got me back early....
but they could not work me in till
June 1!
HAHA

Anyway, it has a LONG MEDICAL name
but what it amounts to is a cluster of
blood vessels that were injury in
some sort of trauma.
Apparently starting a blood blister
and it went through trauma when
that got ripped open.

I will save you the sick tummy issues
by showing what it ended up
looking like.
But it has been removed.
Three nice shots of numbing
meds, a blade to remove
it and then it was
cauterized.

I will be wearing this bandage
all weekend. Trying to keep
it from being hit and keep
it dry.

The doc did tell me that she was
cauterizing it really well because
these things can come
back.
OH YAY!

Once again.....if anything strange
can happen it will
happen to me!

OUCH...the pain meds are wearing
off and the pinky
is throbbing.

Oh yes, it has been sent to the
lab to be sure that it is what
she though it was and
nothing else.
