Coffee, Misty, Lily, Blooms, and Critters

Image
Sunday morning on the deck.  Coffee, laptop and  the girls. Beautiful morn. Here is a pic I took  of Misty on Saturday afternoon, sometimes she just sits and looks at me! But Sunday afternoon  she curled up next to me, sucked on the  blanket while she kneaded. She was sleepy and wanted a nap. The other girl has  decided the glider is hers. Saturday and  all day Sunday, she took that spot for hers. I took a moment to  sit beside Lily Bit  but did not stay long,  that look said  ENOUGH!! This is a ground cover,  not sure of the name,  but I have had this for years. Usually just green,  but its blooming! My flowers that weathered over the winter, seeds  from Mom Beverly's  memorial. Cutting the grass a few days ago and had to laugh  at the frogs hopping all around me. Tiny little ones and  one big fat one. Sorry, no pics. Moths of all kinds. Little white furry looking  one and this whitish blue color one. But these, skinks are  all over the place. Saturday, I walked out  to the front

When Pigs Fly into Your Heart and the Meet Greet of the Pigs

I posted the other day about this book and the woman that wrote it. I love reading on  this book and remembering when Ms. Lawanda posted these stories on FB, before deciding  to write this book. One funny thing about this book, is the names have been changed to protect the innocent! Just kidding, when the pigs started their journey across several properties to visit,  and eat off Ms. Lawanda, she had no clue their names. Visiting with them daily, she and her grandkids gave  these visitors NEW names. This is Razor  AKA (per Ms. Lawanda) Winston. Winston was around when I started visiting the  farm. Named by the  owner, Chris.  I recall at one point  Chris telling me that  Razor was not a potbelly, but he thinks Razor had a mix of a Razorback pig. That explained to me why he looked different than the others.    In the book Razor is mentioned as having hair that stood up. He was the first visitor that went venturing out off  his home property, over the  fields, through the grass and  thr

Pollen Dust, When Pigs Fly and Birds

Image
Good morning! I woke this morning to  pouring rain. It was really coming down.  It's Friday and I am so glad I got the yard cut yesterday. Now, this is a post I wrote a few days ago. Sometimes I have several in the hopper that I wrote ahead of time and sometimes, I only have one.  I like having at least one, but sometimes I  feel lost if I write several ahead of time, I feel sort of off kilter.  haha... its the little things to  can alter your way of doing things... Stepped out on the deck the other day and just FYI, this is  not common dust, this is  POLLEN! Explains the issue with  allergies.  But explain this to me,  how does this, when inside, amount to what I have  been blowing out my nose... SERIOULY,  where does it all come  from? I got this book in the mail Wed. It was written by the sweetest lady. She worked on this  book for several years, but did no live to see it in print. SHAME. I knew Ms. Lawanda, she lived a couple doors down from Chris, the guy I dated that had the

Beautiful Barn, Blooms, FORGOTTEN, and Spring Fed Water

Image
I love this barn. It is in Mt. Juliet, next to Hermitage where I used to live. I have been by this barn so many times, but it seems like age and time is taking a toll on it. Took this when I went that way a couple weeks to shoot  Billy's wedding. There is a bar just down the road from me. Called Last Call, and usually there are cars around it but one Sunday I went by, it was early and no cars. I saw this  painted on the side of the  building, assuming it  was once a BBQ place there.   Growing just inside my  forest (that is what I am calling my wooded section). These next shots were also  taken a couple weeks back and  I am just now playing with them. These are from my yard. I am still taking pics of THE FORGOTTEN in HICKMAN COUNTY but not getting around to posting. This is a  FORGOTTEN. This however is not FORGOTTEN! It's a well, a spring fed well not far from  the house. Like I said, not FORGOTTEN, I see folks there all the time filling up jugs. I am sorry, but that is not go

Morning Coffee, Snuggle Sleep, Barney, Bunny, Glasses and Love

Tuesday morning on the  deck with my coffee and my repaired fairy.   During my move my  fairy got broken right in to. Her legs were broken right from her body. I put her in the shed, thinking that I just needed to toss her out but yesterday, I grabbed my E6000 glue and repaired her. Hoping that she holds up. After coffee I was stretching  out on the couch when I  had a visitor! And she just crawled up, curled up in my  arms and fell asleep. We sat this way for about 30 mins, long enough for her to realize she fell asleep!!! When those eyes opened, she looked glazed over a bit,  then POP UP she went! The other day I made a run to storage and stopped at the river where I found Barney waiting for me. Somedays the funny little things  are what helps to make your day. I have been seeing this next funny little thing since moving to this county, looks like a bunny head. Coming from one direction it looks like a bunny head, but its just a tree stump. Hard to take a pic traveling down the road
