Chole

Image
Chole I see her as the mother of the bunch. Part Shar Pei She is so sweet. A All she required from me was a rub on the head from time to time. Shar Pei's are sensitive to the sun so Chole really don't like going out during the day. She goes out first thing in the morning and then when the sun starts going down. But.....if another one of the dogs are out and they come lay by the front door without scratching, Chole will come and get you and let you know that a dog wants in. All the babies in the house loves this chair. I was sitting in the one next to this one when I felt I was being watched. I did find that Chole would go out during the day if she was staying on the covered deck. Here she is just laying there watching the wild turkey! Gotta love this girl. Thanks for stopping in,

Moose

Image
In yesterdays blog I stated that Moose was like the dad of the dogs. He is laid back. Just wants you to speak to him and pat him on the head from time to time. Being a chocolate lab, he loves water. This pic below was taken after I rode the 4 wheeler around a bit. Him, Chole and Oakley chased me. They all ended up in the pond after that run. Look at that face... He goes to work with my brother several times a week. So it was no big deal to get him up in the car and he go with me to take my grandson to school. He got his own sausage and biscuit that morning. His is Moose drying off under the bush after being in the pond. I had to laugh at him. For the first couple days after my brother leaves on a trip Moose goes out and sits, looking down the drive waiting for daddy to return. The one thing I can really say about these dogs is.... they allow any animal in the house and just d ...

House / Dog / Bird / Fish Sitting

Image
I have been house sitting for my brother and sis in law for years now. When I first started I was sitting with 4 dogs, fish, rabbit, hamster, ferrets, cat, a bird and horse's. By the time I got them fed in the morning it was time to start feeding the evening meal! Over the years the dogs have changed, the house changed, a bird added.... Changes... I just spent the last 12 days at the house while Ray and Lori went on vacation. Its always interesting sitting with other animals in someone's home. Meet Chole. She is a Shar Pei and Lab mix. I see Chole as the mother of the bunch. If one of the dogs wanted in she would come and get me to let me know. I would think she wanted out but when I got to the door and let the other one in, she would not go out. She was doing her motherly deed and letting me know. She is so sweet and loving.  This is Moose.     He is a chocolate lab...

On a Roll with the Paint

After painting the other Halloween stuff I did this one on a scrap piece of board. Then I had this smaller really pretty piece. Painted it a light tan then dry brushed a darker brown, once that was done I painted a black "J" to put in the house. Thanks for stopping in,

Flying Birds from the 50's

Image
My oldest brother was born 1957. He was my mom's first born. My great grandmother bought these planters for my mom when Ray was born. I now have them hanging in my kitchen. They actually have a square opening on the back of each one. These normally have (as I was growing up) plastic flowers sticking out of them. You will notice that the first and the last ones are alike. So I have one on the left side of a shelve and one on the right with the different one hanging above the shelve among the tin's on the shelf. These flying birds fly among the antique utensils hanging on my wall. Funny, growing up I never thought I would like older things /antiques. But I love them now. Thanks for stopping in,
