Leatherback, Horny Rabbit, Bee Butt, Butterfly, No Rain, Boys, Shirt and Make it Happen

 Another interesting thing involving
a Leatherback turtle today.

Massive tracks on Sanibel
Island revealed
 today a rare leatherback
sea turtle, the largest
turtle on Earth, weighing up
to 2,000 pounds!
It’s the first nest there in 4 years. These deep
diving giants can reach 4,000 feet and have roamed
 the oceans since dinosaur times.
What a wild and amazing surprise!

Again, this amazes me. What really
gets me is that some of these
sea turtles can live to be
over a 100 yrs old.

From amazing to scary!

What in the Universe is

happening here!!!

A bizarre virus is turning
 rabbits in the U.S.
 into grotesque, horned
creatures with black,
tentacle-like growths —
and sightings are rising fast.

Known as the cottontail
 papilloma virus (CRPV)
 or Shope papilloma
virus, it causes tumors to
 develop on or near the
rabbits’ heads.

Officials in Colorado
are warning residents
 not to touch these i
nfected rabbits.
YIKES!
I can't help but feel Mother Earth
is still trying to tell us
something which
started in 2020 and continues.
But with that said, I did read up on
it and this is common in
the summertime. I
read that ~
The virus in rabbits was
named after Dr.
 Richard E. Shope, a
professor at the
 Rockefeller University
who discovered the
disease in cottontails in
the 1930s, hence
called Shope
papillomavirus.uncommon to see
infected rabbits, especially in the summer, when
the fleas and ticks that spread the
 virus are most active.
The virus can spread from rabbit
to rabbit but not
to other species, including
 humans or pets.
Nice to know, but if I was a rabbit
hunter out looking to stock the fridge,
this is not one I would take home to skin!

Just not to leave you hanging,
this does not kill the rabbit and
generally, clears up on its own.
Glad to know that.

August has been fairly nice
of late, with some cooler temp
days, but little to no rain.
But the last three days, summer
decided to reappear. What is
interesting, August is usually so
hot for us. I have basically been
staying in, not even had the desire
to do a walk about.
But, I do make a trip later in
the day to the mailbox. Upon heading
out to do that the other day I
mooned but a
BEE.
Yes, you heard me correct, bee
mooned me!

To make this funnier, I stepped
out again almost at dark to
pick up a package the delivery
person left and noticed a bee,
maybe the same, trying out
the flowers on the other side
of the stalk. This baby was loading
up on pollen for sure.

Several days last week we
had what I call rolling
thunder that took place
off and on all day.
But no rain.
Angels bowling in heaven I
guess.

On Friday I picked up Braden,
he had a doc appt and I was
dropping him off with his mom.
Just as I stood in school to
wait for him to be called down,
the bottom opened up.
But, when I got home and
checked the rain gauge, it
looked as if someone spit
in the tube.

Come on Mother Nature,
we could use some rain.

Braden and Amber were at the house
when the package came
for my outfit (yesterday's post)
and my rain gauge last week.
And with that said, I have to say, k
kids live in such an entirely
different world then I do these
days. Braden had no clue what
a rain gauge was. I explained it and
he proceeded to tell me I order
the strangest things.
Oh, my word!
Sort of like when I told
DJ one day did he need something
to wet his whistle?
He had no clue whatso ever
that I was talking about.
Bless his heart, that boy is
oblivious to so much. I don't think
kids get out and live the world
enough, doing things that
they should be doing. Course at
16 I would rather him had been
out in the world doing things he
should have been doing when
he was younger! Rather he not
be doing it at 16 cause at this point
I rather not know what they
are doing at 16.

If you have forgotten what
my brats look like, here you go.
DJ on left and B on right.
DJ 16 and B 14.
First day of school two
weeks ago, dressed as they
dress, black, thick warm up
pants and hoodies.
I would be melting.
Kids!!! I used to think that
Ambers age group were the
lost generation, but thank goodness
she grew up, finally in her late
30's. But this age group, I have no
clue what will become of them, or
what our world as bad as it
is will become.

Had to laugh at this pic
of the boys. Both wearing
black all over, thick, hoodies,
hair almost the same, backpack
over same shoulder and head tilted
just the same amount and same
direction. Shoes and hand placement
just not the same.

Scrolling FB I found a page
where teachers order
t-shirts. A lot of those mention
teacher on the shirt, but some
don't. I was drawn straight to this
one. There are ones for art,
reading, math and so on.

You know, I think I will order
it........I am so good at
forgetting things!

Oh my word. That bunny virus. FREAKY!!! LOLOLOL! I am serious. I am a hiker and if I come across that....I would turn and hike away fast. LOL! It has been a long time since I have commented. I usually pop by on my reading list a few times a year and check in. I get nostalgic and miss blogging so I always pop in a few times a year. Our oldest wears Hoodies and black too in the SUMMER. I would die. This perimenopause is NOT for the faint of heart. HA! It was good to stop by. Blessings.

Wow, the tracks from that turtle are massive.
That virus with the rabbits is awful. I'm glad to hear that it clears up on its own. I would hate to think of those poor rabbits living life with those horns all over them.
Those poor creepy rabbits, yikes!

I don't get all the black the kiddos wear in the summer. Sigh.

The boys are going up so quickly. Sad in one way but good to experience with them. They are in a different world than we knew.

Did you know that when those turtles drag themselves onshore to lay their eggs, there are tears as they lay them? They cry. I feel so sorry for those poor rabbits especially if it impedes their eyesight, breathing. Or eating. Poor creatures. 😢 😭. Yes, kids sure do dress differently these days--- probably every generation has said that though-- ha ha 😆 🤣. We spiffed up for school. Especially the first day. Pretty dress, hose, heels , (well ---not dress up heels but chunky heels and platforms. ). Even BOYS WORE HEELS!!!--- platforms and plaid pants. Lol.

When I see pictures of those poor rabbits I just want to pull those growths right off of them , but that would probably kill them 😢 😭
