Birds, Old Home, My Homes, and Old Fashion Way
Question~
what scary movie have you
seen that really scared you?
For me, it was The Birds.
Now, there could have been
something that contributed to the
scare. Maybe a window, the wind, the
night, all that could have
added to actually seeing that movie.
I am not really sure of the age
that I was when I saw the movie,
maybe 10 or so.
We watched it as a family cause
back in the day, a family only
had one tv., black and white, on
a console tv in a cabinet.
Daddy was probably working so
it would have been mom, me,
Ray and Mark.
After the movie, it was bedtime.
I did not share a room like
Mark and Ray (together), I
had a room all my own.
If I remember correctly, it had
to be spring/fall like temps cause
mom had the windows open
earlier that day but there had
to be like rain or a storm
moving in because I remember
the sound.
Curled up in my bed with the
movie still on my mind,
and having issues getting
to sleep. One reason could have
been due to the movie, but
the issue was, when I closed
my window apparently the top
put had dropped down. I guess
with windows up and down, they
tend to loosen up and without
latching them locked, the top
would sort of slip down.
However, this was not really
something I learned till the
next day.
Trying to sleep, movie and birds
on my mind, the wind was
blowing and causing a whistling
like noise coming through that opening.
Talk about being scared out
of my pants!!
With that, I have NEVER
watched that movie again.
I have seen some wicked movies,
I loved the show
Supernatural
But that is a movie I
can't seem to watch again.
OOPS.....I also have
never seen
Exorcist.
haha....it know it's strange but
I guess it's just cause the scare when
I was a child.
Now, what was your scary movie?
But hey, you remember the old
schoolhouse in the movie The Birds?
I had to take DJ to
an appt Monday morning,
and across the street was this
old home. Oh my gosh, its
amazing.
Of course, I got home and
checked it out on Zillow.
It was built in 1900, 2753 sq
feet, with four bedrooms.
It sold in 2016 for 45 thousand,
and I am thinking it must have
been in wicked shape. Six years
later it sold for 349,900.
SIX YEARS!
Wow, that is a lot of profit.
1994, 1242 sq feet with three bedroom.
the dude that bought from me put it up
for sale for 274,900, however took a
bid for 259,900 only that sale fell
through. Couple months later he
put it back up for 259,900 but it
sold for 245,000. That is still a
big profit for a two-year owned
home. However, that is a big jump
from my sale at 150 to two yrs
later for 245. That is how crazy things
got and continue to rise.
Personally, I would never give that
for this place.
According to Zillow, it is
est. out at 289 now.
With that said, I sold my moms
for 356 and it values out
to 364,400.
Dec. 2023. The good news though
is my value of my place now
has gone up over
24,000 since moving here in
Dec. 23.
and values around where I live.
Just like knowing about these things
in my area. Anyone else do that?
Do you check prices of homes
around you when a home goes up
for sale?
Haha, when I asked the
question above it dawned on
me, I needed to check my
oldest home so I looked
it up. My ex and I bought
this when I was pregnant with
my son, 1987.
1100 sq feet, three bedrooms and
only one bath.
Now to leave you with
this....
Considering I was a part of
this movement with
the needle, ice and a tater,
I am older than dirt!
What about you?
