Wall Painting, Temp Blanket and Colors, Coffin/Grill and Rambling

I have to admit,
this is really cool.
I found this on FB.
Someone painted this upon
request for a client.
I have to say,
AMAZING
job.
I love how it picks
up on the other wall.

Great job and I am sure
someone will love this in
their home, but not for me.
Problem for me, I don't have
walls that don't have furniture on
them, and personally I would consider
it a wasted wall if I could not
use it for furniture.

For years I have wanted to do
a temperature blanket/afhgan
but come the first of the year I
am never ready to start on one. I
never have my colors planned or
the yarn bought for the project.
Again, this year, I
was not ready, but I was
determined that I was starting one.
The thoughts are that you start on
Jan. 1st at which point you
should have your yarn, the colors
you want, the size and etc.
I learned of a website that
allows you to go back to
a day, year and city to
see the weather that day including
temps in highs and lows, so
if you want to do one for 2024,
you can. Or if you miss the
start on Jan. 1st, you can always
start anytime and still know
what the temps were any given
day. Once I found that site,
I decided to go back to
1960 and start mine. I could have
done Feb 14, 1960 and finished it
on Feb 14, 1961 for the first yr
of my life but NO,
I decided I would do Feb 14, 1960,
and do every Feb. 14 for each year to
2025.
Problem, it was only going to be
65 lines long, so I went back
to the website and copied down
the lows for those days also,
to make it 130 lines long.

I explain all this to you to say,
I finally started my temp
blanket. I am up to year 1979.
I LOVE the colors!!!

My temp blanket is going to be
1/2 highs and the other 1/2
will be the lows. I have each
year written down, the
high and lows,
 and the
color per temp range I
am working
from.

However, looking at what
I have stitched so far, and
calculating at I will
stitch of the rest of the highs
and even the lows, this
is going to be
short. Now to decide what
to do? I think I will pick
one of my colors I am
using and do a section for
the center, to separate the
highs and lows. Or maybe look
for a color that is not being
used in the temps and
use it for the center.
Making choices or descisions
used to NEVER
be an issue, wow, I
struggle with that now.
Moving on.....

Saw this this morn and
I have to say, this
being in my yard, for a
grill or anything
else, would have to
be a hard
NO!!!

I love Halloween but
I prob would not even
put this out for that,
it's a real one, now
if it was fake, built for
Halloween, yes, for
Halloween!

Gotta go,
gotta guy coming
to see how much dirt
I am in need. I am
also going to get an
est. on a few other
things I want done.
Electric and outlets
in the shed, rails on
my two steps to the
porch (so I don't fall
on my as....I mean
rear again) and
to build my retaining wall.

I asked the builder what
the dirt and having it
spread would cost, cause
that is how I was taught,
even though he did not
mention cost. Well, I
maybe should have kept
my mouth shut! LOL.
Anyway, dude that was
just here, yes, I took
a break writing this
post to meet with him
is going to send an est.
for the cost of dirt, spreading
and building a
retaining wall. Well, with
whatever the cost, it
should be worth it.
I am sure not up to
spreading a truck load
of dirt, or building
that wall.
I will have to contact
someone else
for the electric and
the rails.
That might be next
months SS payment!
haha
I refuse to take out
of my savings.

So, I have expressed
my choices on the
temp blanket,
what are your thoughts
about making it longer?
Do you like the colors I
am working with?
I have shared a painting
on the wall with you,
would you ever consider
doing a painting on one
wall? I think I have
shared with you my
thoughts of bare walls,
I don't have any!
I refuse to have bare
walls. So, that really
don't leave a wall to paint on.

Anyway, today is nice,
no clouds, blue skies,
and warmer than yesterday,
which was
COLD. News reports
say that what we had
Sunday night was just
a taste of what is
coming tomorrow.
Figure Amber and
the boys will
be here tomorrow
night.

Hoping weather is
good where you are,
Pam

I love the wall painting, but I would have went for an ocean view. Just saying.

I love that grill. I wouldn't want one, but I love it. Brilliant.

Have a fabulous day and week, Pam. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to the kitties. ♥

Very cool wall art

That's a great idea for a temperature blanket. Picking one year seems so limiting. If it were me and it wasn't big enough, I'd probably do two or three rows per day (bigger stripes). Or maybe just make a big border around the whole thing.

That wall painting is fantastic but I think I could do well without it in our house!! Temperature blanket is fun I have a friend who does one every year. I love your colours. Have a good week, Diane

Hard no on the coffin for me too. I don’t understand some choices…

I think the easiest fix for the temp blanket would just do more rows per day. If you're doing 2 per day now make it 4 or 6 instead.
I wouldn't want it either but that wall art is very pretty! Your afhgan is gonna be pretty. I'm a no on that grill too!

I would have no problem with a painting on a wall, if I had the space, but not that painting!! It would scare me every morning, lol. But it is beautiful.
While the artist who did the octopus is very talented, who would want that in their living room? You temp blanket is going to very unique, cannot wait to the finished product.
