My Shadow Misty, Unusual Items Used for Gardening and The Burn

Saturday morning in bed with
my coffee, tv, laptop and
of course my shadow,
Misty River.

She sort of likes her mom.

I worked outside in the yard,
most all day on Saturday.
Course, you know I have to
take breaks but I got a lot
done. I was proud of
ME.

Sunday, I went about 40 mins
down the road to Columbia.
I like their Walmart and for a
change I decided to go there
to pick up somethings.
When I came home, I had
to plant some plants I
got.
I picked up this iron
thingy last year at either
a yard sale or GW. I think it
is normally used in a kitchen,
but this is why I try to
look at things differently.
Using them for a different
purpose then what they are
made for.
I picked up a few of the
pot thingys and on Sunday
I planted some flowers in
this piece.

This is also something
used in the house. I used it in
the kitchen when I first moved
here. I got this several years
ago at GW.
Works great to place potted plants
on and sit in the garden.

Another GW buy a few years ago,
I place it in a plant holder, put
water in it and a couple
of rocks, that sit above the
water. This is for the bees.

I love to have things like
these out in my yard and
gardens.

One night last week I
wanted some popcorn.
Go figure, I burned it.
Then on Saturday I was
going to make some
apple cinnamon crisp
bars. I baked them in the over,
then I wanted them to have
a tad more crisp.
Friends, this is why you
never turn things
on broil....
and walk out of the room.

Here is hoping that if
you baked, cooked, broiled
or etc this past weekend,
you did better than me.

Awww on your baby. She does love her mom.

Yikes on the burnt food. I hate it when that happens. You're not alone.

Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to the kitties and a hug to you. ♥

I think "sort of likes her mom" is a bit of an understatement! I love the double decker planter and the plant in it!

hi there Pam, you and I like the same type of whimsical things in our gardens. I love what you did with that iron piece, turning it into a planter. It looks great!

Good idea to use things in different ways to pretty up your yard.
Oops on the burnt food. The last time I did something like that it was in the air fryer. I put a wrap sandwich in and it rolled over and the edge of the tortilla blew up and got burnt to a crisp.

I'm proud of your endeavors, too. And I agree with Jeanie. :) My kitchen endeavors have been hit or miss. ~rolls eyes~ Two friends cleared out a motel and production plant, respectively, by burning popcorn in the microwave years ago. lol I recommend getting an air popper; ours came from a different friend's yard sale. It looks ancient but works great. Hugs, my dear.
