Replies to Comments, and New Projects, Coat Stand, Headboard and Painting

Been a long time since I did
a reply to comments so today,
here we go!

Let's start with Ann
over at
Ann said this about my post
of the cat that loved to get
in the fridge.
~The one cat I had years ago
didn't know how to open the fridge
but he did sneak in there once when I
opened the door. I didn't find him until
a few hours later when I went to the fridge
again. He ate a good amount of
cheesecake while he was in there.
SERIOUSLY? How was the
cat, COLD? Sick from the
cheesecake? My mouth dropped
open when I read that comment.

Hey, I have 4 that would totally get in the
fridge if they thought they could
 get away with it.
Okay Terry, name the hungry ones
that would get in the
fridge if they could.

Liz over at
asked this question~
So, are you just shopping for yourself,
or are you self gifting?
Hard to reply to a question
like that when you are the
one brining in the dough
and purchasing things
for myself. If I want
something, and I have the
money, I get it. Buying
for myself or gifting,
sort of works out the
same, don't it?

Over at
they love waffles!
I sort of figured that out
by this statement ~
Waffles are delicious!
Yep, but doing waffles
or pancakes, I rather
have pancakes. The prob
with either is the syrup.
Since I had gastric bypass surgery
in 2017, I have been unable to
enjoy syrup and the bad
thing about that is
the soggy and mushy
of the syrup on the pancake,
is DELICIOUS!
Probably will not be making
waffles with my new
waffle maker, just other
kinds of meals with the
maker.

Before moving on, I want
to thank all you sweeties that
commented along the line,
about my post being interesting,
and fun.

Today is Sunday, and like
the way my life goes,
I am resting. I was out and
about yesterday, Amber
and I went thrifting.
With that said, it's the day
after and the body is
wanting to lay around and
do nothing!

The fun part, Amber and
I had fun.
We drove to Nashville to
go to my favorite
Habitat for Humanity
Restore. I have not been
there in probably two years
and I have two projects in
mind and I was looking for
supplies.

I was able to find my supplies,
and the ride home was interesting.
I have a Ford Escape SUV but when
hauling doors, it can become
an adventure! We had to
slide the doors in on the sides
and through the opening between
both front seats, and they leaned
over Amber's way. She was squashed
a bit. It was funny trying to
talk around doors. I bought
two old doors.
One project with a door is
going to be my new headboard.
The next one will be something
like this~
I have this small table
I am not using and thought
this would look
so cute.

I might put a shelve on
top like the one
below.

The door for the headboard
is about 20 inches longer
then the width of my
queen bed, I can cut it
down, and since it is an
old door, it is solid so cutting
is doable.
OR
I can leave ten inches
hanging over the mattress and
install some sconces.

The way they have the
first headboard
hanging, on the wall, is not
how I am going to do
mine, I am putting legs on mine.

Got deals on the doors, they
started at 75 bucks each, but
a month later they were down to
33 something and a month later
22 each. I got both mine for 22
each. I sort of like the
paint peeling look, but pretty
sure it is probably got lead paint
on them, so I need to see if
I can seal them to lock that
lead away after they are cleaned.
Really don't wish to paint them
if I don't have too. Both
doors came with one side
having an old knob on them
and I think the one I am going
to use the the bed has an old
lock also. I will be leaving them
on the bed. Wishing I felt
like starting on them today.
But its already 1 and I have
been dealing with a massive
headache and body aches so that
is not happening. I laid around
all morning and finally trying
coffee for the headache.

OOPS......I forgot to tell you that
I brought home another
project also ~ I bought
two gallons of paint.
One is a sage green which I
plan to use in my back bedroom,
the spread and curtains have
that green in them. I will
paint the wall the bed is
on.
These pics were taken when I
moved in and of course I still
had not unpacked things.

Oh crap, this room actually looks
worse now!
All that is in there furniture
wise is the cedar chifferobe
that belonged to my granny, the
bed and my granny's table.
TV stand is one deck and
the tv for now is in my room.
Spring coming, it will be moved
out. Anyway, right now, where the
stand is showing in the pic, that whole
wall is covered with yard sale items
I have been putting there
for the spring. That space is full.
But with all that said, the full
space will hold the most
adorable little dresser and
mirror once I get it home.
My sis in law gave it to me.
Wow, did I really get off
topic, I showed the pics of
the room so you could see
the green...lol.

Back on topic, the green
wall will be where the
headboard of the bed is.
The other three will
either be antique white
or a light beige.
I have not painted in years,
I think the last thing I
painted for kitchen cabinets
at my house of 28 years and
that was in 2020 before moving
to my childhood home.
My body might protest
but, it might help it to make
me do more moving.
I say that cause, I think I
will be doing a lot of the
painting myself. My son in laws
dad is a professional painter and
has painted the inside homes
of stars like Wyonna Judd, I have
him coming to give estimate
for my living room cause
both sides of the room are like
this

Even if I had a ladder that
long to reach the top, I
don't trust my balance to
climb up and do that.
This is also the wall I want
shelving on once the
tv is hung. I want to leave
the fireplace under the tv
with shelves around it but
I think the problem is going
to be that the tv is wider
than the fireplace so in my
head I have been trying to decide
how to build onto the fireplace
to make it look longer. I think,
but don't want to do,
that I need a shorter, longer
fake fireplace. Just don't wish
to buy one. That is something
to ponder once the wall is
painted and Brayden (grandson)
comes and hangs the TV.

Did I mention that Amber
came home with project
supplies? haha....
I rubbed off on her.
The biggest problem with
that, Amber did not take after
me in being creative. The good
thing, it's just painting, and
yet the other problem, Amber
has only painted a room once,
YEARS ago, and I would never
hire her!!
Guess I will be helping!

Folks, sorry for the Loooooooog
post without many pics
but I hope you enjoyed being
in my head to see what I have
planned to do. AND
equally sorry if you
can't find your way
out of my head!!

Pam

I love the idea of you working side by side with Amber. You have so much knowledge to share and the time together is priceless. Enjoy!
Those were fun answers and terrific photos. Okay the Fridge Four would be Titan, Tyler, Tinslee and Chipper!

I don't think the cat was in there for more than a couple hours. I had gone back to the fridge to get a drink and there he was sitting on the shelf. He didn't appear to be cold at all and I don't recall him getting sick from eating the cheesecake. It's been a fun story to retell.
Love the ideas with the old doors.
