Thrifting Wire Basket and Styling it, and Yoda

When I was out and about
on Friday doing errands and
thrifting, I found this wire
basket. It was a GW buy for
2.99. I had an idea of what I
wanted to do with it only I
did not realize that the opening
at the bottom between wires might
be an issue.
So, I decided to add these pieces
of wood I had set aside, already stained
even. I just set them down in
the basket.

Then I started styling it.

The red book, Readers Digest was
one of moms. I think I kept it thinking
I would read the stories in there. No,
I have not yet. The blue book is
a state of TN blue book. Our blue
book, is put out every year. Has
a message from the governor, all the
house and senate reps pics are in
there and what city the represent.
Also, mentioned and pictured is
the state flower, animal, and
so on.
I kept this book cause I worked
for Photo Service full time
back then, before retirement.
Being that I worked on a lot
of the book, pulling pics together
for the printing, I was mentioned
in the book with a thank you.
The pic is of me and my daughter,
taken at my niece's wedding.
I needed something small to
also sit in the basket, so since
my mints were sitting there on the
table, I grabbed them, subject to
change.

Friends, it is really amazing
what love, caring, entertainment
and movement an animal can
make in a persons life.
My friends
knowing that Dakota was a big
part of my life and they watched
his daily life on my FB page, they
felt my loss. I rec'd cards and even
a nice key ring with a metal shape
of a paw print when I lost him.
I still today have people here on
the blog and FB who comment
on missing him.

A friend of mine, sports
guy in the Nashville paper also
found what the love of a fur babe
could bring. Here is his story in
the Nashville paper.

Meet Yoda.

And here is Yoda and Mikes
story.
They fell in love with Mike Organ's kitten

We here at The Tennessean are so happy to have sports writer Mike Organ on board, and for 39 years at that. In addition to excellent, fun and quirky stories, Mike is a super kind guy. How kind?

Many of Mike's Facebook friends fell in love with this kitten, and a handful even started sending toys and gift cards to Mike for Yoda. When Mike posted about Bucky the boxer, invariably a few folks would ask, "But where's Yoda?"

In January, it was time for Yoda to get neutered, but the procedure proved to be too much for the kitten. Yoda died in the veterinarian's office on Jan. 7 after experiencing cardiac arrest.

Dare I say, those donations have just as much to do with folks' admiration and love for Mike.

Yes, Bucky also misses Yoda a whole lot. And yes, Mike said he and his wife, Lady, soon will get another black cat, this time from the True Rescue shelter.

I was a daily follower of Yoda's.
I also miss those post of him and
his life. Watching him grow and
fit in with Mike, Lady and Bucky
was something I looked forward to
reading.

Mike is well loved in Nashville
and Yoda jumped right in
and found that same love from
everyone that follows Mike.
So strong was that love, that now
that donation is well over 10,000 bucks.
AWESOME.
Just hate the reason for the donation.

Mike and his wife have
decided they want another
black cat. They looked at
True Rescue but one
did not steal their heart.
Like Mike said on FB,
its not to replace Yoda,
not possible but to give
Bucky another friend.
She is griefing.
Hugs to the family.

Pam

Love what you did with the rack. Beautiful. You're so crafty.

Big healing hugs on the loss of Yoda. How awful. I hope they find the purrfect black kitty.

Have a fabulous day and rest of the week, Pam. Scritches to the kitties. ♥

Cute basket. Sad about Yoda. What a freak sort of thing to happen.
