Poem, Animals, Plow and Occupation

Yep, been a tad cold
here.
I went out Tuesday before
the snow on Friday to
take the trash out,
get mail and pick up a
couple of sticks and some
pignuts. Out three mins tops,
I thought I would never warm
up again.

My niece Paige,
retired from showing
Arabian horses, to showing
dogs, runs the
Western Kentucky University
 Esquire program, has three
children, cows, goats, pigs
and a brunch of dogs,
and she raising her second deer.

Did I say second? Yep!
She found a baby deer next
to her mom who was dead
on the road several years ago.
She brought it home to raise
and it stayed a long while,
till crowd of deer came
through the property, and
off it went.

Apparently, this one had no
mom either, Paige took it
in to love and even though it has
run of the property, it
keeps coming back
to say hello.

FYI, this is the third deer
my family has raised. When
my niece Holly was little,
her dad, my younger brother
found a deer around its dead
mom also, so home it came.
Raised, loved and loved
Mark, but one day also,
when it realized there were
others out there like him,
he left. His name was
Bambi.

I remember one time, living
on the local lake, Mark
walked through the woods
to the lake, he is the
health nut of our bunch, so
walking, bike riding and
hiking is his thing....
anyway, he walked to the
lake followed by Paige's
goat that was staying in the
barn at Marks and behind
the goat was the deer.
There were two fishermen
in a boat in the cove and one
yelled, hey dude, there is a
a deer behind you!

Unless you have not figured
it out, we are all pretty
much major animal lovers.
Funny thing is, Ray, me and
Mark grew up with dogs.
Never had a cat.
Ray now has two cats and
two dogs. They tend to
go for the larger dogs.
Well with Mark, I sort
of gave up on the count.
Mark has anywhere between
five to 20 feral cats he feeds
at the house. Had four indoor
cats then his daughter could not
keep her two cats. Making that
six indoor. Plus, they also have
a large dog.
I had at one given time a horse,
a cat, one dog and then I
inherited moms three dogs.
Now, two cats.
My son can't walk past
a dog that he don't start
talking baby talk to them and
the dogs wiggling their tails
out of whack.

Not to mention the other
family members.

Let's move past the animals
now.
Here is another snow
plow I saw featured on
FB.
I like that.

I lived in Metro Davidson County
Tn. the better part of
my life. Never had a plow
at any of the homes I lived
at to clear off the roads.
Today, here in rural county
TN a plow came down
my road. Amazing. I did not
go out, just hung here in
the house again today.
But, I am impressed.

Here is a good question for
you.

Are you ready for this?
A clown!
There is a college in Fla. that
I had planned on going to.
I know, crazy right!
I did change my mind
however, I was dating
a guy I thought I would
marry so I decided to stay
close to home.

When I was a young teen,
I thought about
a hair stylist. With skin
allergies, I decided against
that. Plus, a clown fit
me better!
haha

I used to do kiddie parties also,
when I was dressed like this
and my kids were in the car,
they would ride in the floorboard
to not be seen.
But my brother loved it
when I did Holly's bday
party when she was a child.

So, was your desired job
the one you ended up doing?
What was the desired job?

Pam

Love that first one. I'm ready for spring.

I did what I was supposed to do and am happy I had a wonderful and fulfilling career.

Have a fabulous day and week, Pam. Scritches to the kitties. ♥
I have enjoyed looking at all the pictures and reading your blog today. That plow sign gave me a chuckle. Girl, my childhood dream was to become a beautician or school bus driver. Neither happened and real glad the bus driver part didn't cause I am not so sure my nerves could take it! LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

That is a lot of critters. It's always interesting the reasons why we don't follow a childhood dream. At least you get to dress up as a clown from time to time.

It's been cold here too. I could use a nice warm day.
I can't say that I remember ever wanting to be something when i grew up.
Such a fun post! It's way too cold here too. Boy, Paige is such a Saint!

Love the deer stories. Raising a deer sounds so interesting and difficult at times.

Oh, I wanted to become a freelance photographer or some other such artist. It's just as well my dreams weren't supported, I suppose; the soulless corporate jobs allowed me to retire early and meet some awesome folks along the way. :D And now I can play. Be well!
A clown?!? I would have never guessed that! Loved that poem at the beginning and the deer raising tales, so cool!
