NYE Chilling, Laundry, Sweeping, Billie Burke and The Carriage

 New Years Eve, just chilling
with the girls. Actually, I played
with Lily then Misty chilled with me.

haha.....and though she
was tempted,
she was such a good girl
that she did not bother
the yarn.

She just watched.

I hope you did not do
your laundry on Jan. 1st.

Apparently, it's bad luck.
So, I did not do any, luck
was on my side, I had mine
done!

I did however, put the girls
in my bedroom at two mins
till midnight, opened up
the front door and from the back
door to the front I sweep out
the negativity and bad vibes.
Out the front door they
went. Shut the front door and
let the girls out.

You know I was so surprised
to learn that my middle and
youngest grandkids have never
seen the Wizard of Oz.
WHY?
Well, you know it is my
all time favorite movie.
I introduced both my kids to
that show. I not only
introduced my kids but
my nephew Chase and
niece Holly also.

What is interesting is
with me being a big
fan of the show, I still
learn new things about it.

Just the other day I
 learned this~
Billie Burke born Mary
William Ethelbert
Appleton Burke, on
August 7, 1884 and died
May 14, 1970 at the
age of 85. Her father was a
 clown with the Barnum
 & Bailey Circus. She
became the Good Witch
of the North
 in the Wizard of Oz.
All reac
I always just
knew her as Billie Burke, but
never knew that she carried such
a BIG name. Or that her
father was a clown with
Barnum and Bailey.
That is interesting.

A couple weeks ago I also
learned that the carriage
used in the Wizard of Oz,
pulled by the horse
of a different color
was owned by
Abraham Lincoln.

I had no clue.
I shake my head thinking
I have been a fan of
this movie all my
life and I did not know
about these two
things about the movie
or cast!

What is your favorite movie?
My second favorite movie
is Dirty Dancing.

Those are very interesting facts about the film. Thank you for sharing. I envision you introducing the youngsters to the classic. :) Do you harbor any interest in seeing the movie "Wicked"? As for me, I have trouble picking a favorite film. "Dirty Dancing" is awesome but I may have to go with "Doctor Strangelove" followed by "Clay Pigeons" (fantastic soundtrack!), then "Fight Club"; we tend to enjoy black comedies. Blessings, my dear, for a bright year and improved health.

It's nice that you can still learn new things about the movie. It's iconic for a reason.
We still have fireworks going off here. I like the Wizard of Oz too. Hey, one of our friends was in Dirty Dancing, she was one of the dancers. Happy New Year!

Nice way to spend New Years Eve. When I was growing up The Wizard of Oz was a yearly special so I think everyone saw it.
