Gargoyle, Garden Finds, Bruschetta, and Ferrets
Did you know that the day after
tomorrow actually has a name
other than the day after
tomorrow~ its
called overmorrow?
And I have found that you are
never too old to learn something.
On Friday, the temps were up and
a lot of my pain let up, so
I decided to get out, run errands
and shopped.
I have been wanting a gargoyle for
a long time so I went and
got one. This is a baby gargoyle,
to put in the yard, to look
over the house and protect it.
I have not decided yet where
he will go but I have time
to decide that.
Those that followed me at
my home of 28 years I had
several flowerbeds through
the yard, with little
whimsical touches all around.
When I moved to my childhood
home, I got rid of most of them.
Isn't she the cutest?
She is about 12 inches from
beak to tail. Can't wait to
get her in the yard.
The black is a melted
candle that I will need to
I moved here, I had a lot
of issues digging the holes to
put anything in the ground. I purchased
augers to attach to the
drill for digging holes. That works
great, but for making flowerbeds
and planting of them, it will be
a tad hard. With that I will
be planting in a lot of pots.
I have learned however, that
plastic pots out in the elements
last a couple of years. They fade
and crack. Concrete runs into a
lot of dollars for a lot of planters.
Making raised beds on top of the
ground needs borders and dirt.
Since I like things whimsical looking
and not matchy, I thought I would
pick up items that would work
for pots.
This is a metal ice bucket
or trash can. PERFECT and
I could even spray paint it.
Drill some holes in the bottom
and I have drainage.
I really like this next item
for a planter pot.
No drainage holes needed.
The little kitty came from
Pop Shelve. She was not a thrift
store buy though, I paid full price
cause I had to have it.
Eight bucks though was not
bad.
I am in the process of getting
the yard done! All except for
the actual hard work!
haha
My older brother has some landscaping
blocks left over so I will
be bringing them home with me
on my next trip to help pack.
Those will help a lot in
the process of getting some color
to the yard.
My first couple of purchases I hope
to make for the yard will be
a velvet red crepe myrtle bush and
a couple hydrangea bushes.
When I went to pack with my
SIL, my brother took us to
dinner after going to the new
house. He ordered some
bruschetta. It was so good.
Friday after running around I
decided to make some.
I sliced the bread, chopped up
tomatoes, and garlic, and mixed
that with basil with that.
Brushed on olive oil and
parmesan cheese on the bread
and baked that 150 till it got
crunchy. Drizzled Balsamic Vinegar over
the top of the bread. It was good, but I
will have to play with the mixture
a bit.
YUM.
One of the errands I had to run
while out on Friday,
I had to stop and get Lily's
wet food.
While I was there, I looked
at the fish, cats and always
the ferrets. They are so adorable.
My brother had a couple once
and
during my housesitting days
I would play with them and
love on them.
The I broke out in a rash from
them. HAHA
Anyway, I guess due to
the cooler temps, they were cuddled
up together sleeping.
Two on each side of the third
one, but the face of the third
one was all you could see.
I think it was dreaming cause
every now and again, it stuck its
tongue out.
Here is a shot of all
three of them.
out of that center ferret.
I love watching them.
Have you ever had a ferret?
Are there any critters that you
love to watch in play,
life or nature?

Have a fabulous day and week, Pam. Scritches to the kitties. ♥
When I was a kid, my family took in my 1st grade class' chinchillas. Cute critters. And then my brother broke out in hives... Oops. No cute little furry critters for us after that.
