New Cup, Outside the Box, Snow, Relaxing, Ornaments and Property Line with Trees

 Good morning blogging
friends!
I am a one cup coffee drinker,
and I really don't have to have
it daily. If I wake with a headache,
it is my go too for sure.
But looking at my coffee cups
for Christmas time, I only
had two (2).
I kept telling myself that, really,
how many Christmas cups
does one person need?
I did good putting off buying
one till I saw this one
below.

Well, for three bucks, how
could I go wrong?
haha

Oh my gosh, you all know
that I don't normally think
within a box, I try to think
out but at times I need the
help of an idea I see, and then
I put my take on it.
But, even with this out of
the box fence, I am not sure
I could build on it.

WOW....there would be a lot of
work in just getting this put
together. But how amazingly
different it is.

SNOW....WOW...
those northern states have
been really hit, right Ann?
Bless your heart, I would hate
to think that I had to get out
in that, unless I wanted
to play!
On that note, we got snow
last night.

Can you see it?
HAHA...I did watch it coming
down some last night and at times
it was more than flurries, but
we got nothing from it,
except on my leaves!

Watching it fall is the best
part of snow anyway,
it is like watching all my
flaky friends coming in for a visit!

We had a cold day yesterday but
we will barely make it to
35 today. If I did not have a meeting
coming to the house, I would stay in
my pjs.

Kicked back like this, watching tv,
looking at the lights and snuggling
with my girls.

I look at the tree, study my
ornaments and think back on
where they came from.
These below, I can't remember.
I think my daughter came home in
elementary school with it. I want
to say a parent made each child one.

There are actually two skates,
and they are attached to a white
piece of yarn, at the top of
the yarn is a pompom with a
safety pin attached to the pompom.
I think Amber wore it home.

All the ones I made for Amber, Caleb,
DJ and Braden that I cross stitched
over the years in their younger life,
I gave to Amber years ago.
However, in a move once,
they all got lost.
All that time and memories that
were to go to the kids as
they started their own families
were gone.
I no longer cross stitch ornaments,
but I do make the kids one
every years. This year was simple,
I purchased wooden pieces, already
painted at Hobby Lobby and
added 2024 to them, along
with their names and put a hanger
on it for them.
This below is the type I
did this yr.
Both Misty and Lily have one.
Each child got one relating to
things they like.
Yep, Ms. Photographer did not
take pics.

One year I painted ones for
the girls.

This one I got at the
TN School for the Blind.
Joy on one side.

This is one the other side.

I remember where I got this one
below. In Sevierville TN.
I picked it up at a cute shop
there when I was there one year
for the TBI Admin. Conference.

I probably have not done
color lights on my tree since my
kids were little bitty.
My new tree however, has
a remote control where I
can change to color, back
to white, blinkers or not or
the colors to fade in and out.
Thought I would try colors
today.

Enough Christmas for now...
two days ago I walked to the back
of my property.
Standing on my property line
I took this shot. Through the
trees you can see the back of the
house. I will not walk it in the
summer, I don't like snake, ticks
or chiggers and I had my share of
chiggers this past summer.
But I will walk it in the fall and
winter.
I was back checking out trees.
There are a few Cedar trees but I
saw no Maple (course leaves off I
would prob not know a Maple from
a Dogwood. lol.
The better part of the trees are Oaks.
I like that, it's a strong tree and they
don't come down easy in storms.
With that said, I was looking for babies
to dig up (later) and plant in the
front. I have NO trees in the
front. My grandson lives on some
good size land and I am going
over there this spring to locate some
Maples, Redbud, and whatever else.

Okay....enough.
Do you have a favorite tree?
What about Christmas lights,
white or color?

I love that fence and plants. Beautiful.

I love all Christmas trees and I love the white lights the best. I tend to decorate with gold and red.

Have a fabulous day and week, Pam. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to the kitties. ♥

One year I wanted to put up all red lights on the house. I was told I could not do that. Sigh. I may do that one of these years, if I do my own decorating. I'm not bothering this year.

My husband’s grandmother made the same crochet skates for our tree years ago. We plan to give them to the grandkids for their tree this year.

Yes, you needed that mug!
We are getting snow, every day for about a week now. Another big storm predicted for tomorrow and an artic front. I'm ready for it to be done!
Love the sweet ornaments.

What a fun post. I love seeing your ornaments and hearing the favorite stories around them. That fence is spectacular. And yes, my favorite tree is the maple -- both the yellow and red ones. (And redbuds!)
Nice mug shot and pretty tree. Our tree switches between white and multicolor lights!

I always preferred colored lights for my indoor tree and white outside. :D Bless you, my dear, and thanks for sharing.

That fence is so unique and eye catching. I really like it. I love your tree and that's awesome that you can choose between white or color. I need a tree like that because I go back and forth on what I prefer.

Forgot to say, yes, we have been hit big time with snow here and it's not over yet. Another band is supposed to come through dropping an additional foot or more.
Rather than having standard ornaments and balls, we try to fill our tree with special ornaments that we picked up on our travels or were gifts. Makes Christmas that much more special!
