Morning, One Yr, the Move, Christmas Poses with Lily and Misty, Cookies, and Stains

Good morning
folks in blog land!

Wow.....Thursday marked
one year since I moved to
Nunnelly from my old stomping
grounds. Not sure if I shared with you all
before, but the move was really big
for me. I moved to the area
of my stomping grounds
when I was five years old
from Fort Campbell Military
base in Ky.
Just a year later, we moved
to my childhood home.
I was 6 years old, and I did
not leave that house till
I was 20 years old. Now, did I
leave that home? NOPE, I was
there almost daily until I was
58. It was home now matter where
I lived, no matter what home
I owned, that home was
mine. My kids grew up going
there. For Amber, it was like a
second home to her.

Those who have been following
me know that a yr after my
mom left this world, I bought
my brother's portions of the
house and moved home.

Oh yeah, it changed over the
years. But it was still home and I
planned on this being the last move,
my last home. I grew up here and all
my besties and connections were here.
But, this was more house than
I needed and no matter what I did,
it was still mom's home. I couldn't
make it mine. That was an eye opener
and made the move easier when I decided
to move to the other side of town.

You see the hill in the front, and if you
look to the back of the pic you can
see part of the hill in the back.
Here is more of the back.
I managed to be able to cut
the back, the side but
the front hill,
I actually had to hire
 it done. While I was
at it I had the dude
weed eat also.
UNTIL.....the mower
threw me
cause I was not going
either at
the correct angle or
not fast enough.
Fast was a BIG deal
cause it seemed
to be the only way to
hug that ground but
the speed on the hill scared me.
I finally had to hire it all done.

Then there was the
stairs, 16 to the
basement, where the
washer was.
Seven to the front
porch and five
narrow ones to the
deck. I had to pull
the car into the front
yard and unload
my groceries cause
I just could not
do the stairs from the
garage/basement.
It was actually easier
to load clothes
in the car when I pulled
it to the front
of the yard and take all that
to the laundry mat
to was then to
climb up and down
that stairs to the
basement.

The washer was not
just a step out
into the basement....
oh no, down those
stairs, to the landing
between them
and the den, out the
 door into the
garage, up a step,
around the bottom
half of the stairs and
into the very back
of the basement.

Then I got sick. Freaking stones!!
After those three
surgeries I decided
my best bet was to move closer
to my daughter, one
hour and 15 mins
away from my
stomping grounds,
and my friends.

Leaving mom's house was hard,
but after living there for
four yrs. Dealing with yard and
stairs and a sewer backup into
the bathroom and den, I found the
thought of leaving that
behind, became
some easier. Leaving friends,
the wedding venue and
convenience of stores
and knowing
where to go for
whatever, was the
hardest.

I love my home. I
 love being close
to Amber and the
 grandsons, plus
those adorable great
grands. Having all
this space around me is great. I am happy
here, but the move did take
a lot from me.

You know time really does
fly by fast, Thursday, Dec. 12th
marked one year here.
Flat yard, no, but it levels
off nicely and it is not
hard to cut. Stairs, no, two
steps up to the porch. Yes, two,
that makes life better, but I have
fallen down them, just call me
Ms. Grace.

There are five or six steps
to the back deck, not steep
though and not hard to climb, and
folks, that is it. No stairs inside.

Although there are several things
I so want to do, and with hopes
I will be able to work on this
spring and summer, but I am happy
with my move.
I do miss my FRIENDS and I
do HATE that drive there, but
it's all fine.

Now moving on with making
this a long drawn out post!
haha.

Last night Amber just dropped in
to sit and talk a bit.
It was nice. I enjoy those times.
No boys, although I love
them, just Amber and I.
When she got ready to leave
she looked over at
Lily who was sitting on
the dining table, which she
knows is a no, no but I think
she loves to push when people come
and visit.
I could not help it, I did not
make her jump down before
taking some pics.
Look at the pissy look she is
giving me.

I decided to push the balls above
her head to get her attention cause
she wanted to look away,
and this is what I got.

Now, thinking already this
might be a Christmas card next
year, but I want to include Misty
also. It just so happened that later,
I look up, long after Amber left
to find her doing what she saw
Lily doing. Sitting on the table
in front of the Christmas decor.

I could never get her to look
up. But I do have some cute ones
of her under the tree.

That last one is so adorable!!

She must have been in a posing
mood cause just shortly after
the table pose, she got under the tree and
as always, I had the camera with me,
but later she tried this
poss. A tad too for my liking
but a cell phone only does
so much.

I sat on the couch to chill before
bed, and Misty jumped up
in front of the tv. I told her she
needed to not sit so close to
watch tv, it was bad for her
eyes.

I went out on Thursday to pick
up Lily's wet food. I try to stay
up on all that and I usually buy a
months or two in advance.
Course, I have to read what I
am picking up cause, she is not
a fan of chicken and I am
not a fan of sardines.
haha

While I was out, I picked up this
tin of cookies. My mom enjoyed
these so much at this time of
years, and usually I follow that
trend and get at least one tin
for me.
Now, before I close this long drawn
out post, I wanted
to share this with you.
You know, I like to give some
learning tips along the way in
my blog.
Also, on the ink, hairspray
is good also.

I have never used milk so
I cannot say if it works or not,
but working in printing, hairspray,
if it's not a big blob of ink, works
good.

Enjoy your day,
Christmas is not far
away!

Pam
