Routine, and Holding Onto

When I was younger, I never thought
about routines. I guess there
were some but nothing that I
can say I really stuck to.
However, these days, there
are a few routines.

One of them is my morning
routine. I get up these day and
fix my coffee, if I need it.
I say that cause I really
don't drink it for enjoyment, I
do for headaches.
If I wake with one, I have
coffee. I get headaches easy.

Anyway, I head to my corner
in the couch, I surf FB and I blog.
Misty however, has developed her
own routine. Waking with me,
sometimes like yesterday morning
she woke me. I went to the kitchen,
put coffee on, and once it was done
I grabbed the laptop.
Leaning back on a pillow,
coffee beside me, laptop on
lap and I started my FB'ing.
With comments to make,
replies to get to,
I usually end up closing the
laptop, cause there is no way to
do those things with her
curled up on my chest.
I close the laptop,
finish the coffee and lay
my head back while I rub
her on her favorite spot,
the neck. About the time
I doze, usually 20 mins or
a little more, she wakes.
When she wakes it is not a
gradual thing like people, eyes
opening slow and coming to life...
NO, Misty wakes and jumps
right into taking a bath.
Now awake again, I let her do
her thing, then all of a sudden,
time to get off mom!
Girl is a total mess.

Meanwhile, Lily has gone back to the
bed, and I am awake, blogging.

Do you things in your life that
go back years, that you might
wear or use every now and again.
Well, this cup is one. I use it
this time of year of course.
One of my dearest friends,
Debbie Brewer gave me this
one year with my Christmas gift.

We worked in Printing together
for years. I have not been in Printing
since 04.

Now, look at these. When I worked at
the Hermitage, Home of Pres. Andrew
Jackson, we had a man that furnished
jewelry to the gift shop, and I fell in
love with these jade earrings.
I was 17.
When looking at my earrings
to wear for Thanksgiving, I
saw them hanging there, since
I was wearing green, I decided to wear
them.

Not sure what I gave for them,
would be interesting to see
what they are worth now.

HAHA...
wait a minute.
I looked online and I
found these.

Well look at that.
Etsy has them for 43.00 but on
sale now for 32.25.
I prob did not give over 10 bucks
for these.
Mine are about two years
from being 50 yrs old.
WOW...
What is funny, this is not
stuff I tried to hold on to, it just
happened.

Are you holding on to something
that you have had for years and
you just realized how long you have
had it?
What about a routine, do you have
one, two, maybe more?
