If You Know, Star Projects, Primer Verses Paint and the Leg
Morning bloggers!
I ran across this on FB.
I had to laugh, yes, mine
were done this way.
Only, a clothespin was involved
also. I am sure most of you know
what this means.
I was 12 when mine was done and
my aunt Martha did them when I was
visiting in Fla.
My dad's remark to me having
my ears pierced was, "if God would
have wanted you to have holes in
your ears, he would have put them
there!"
Had I been a couple years old,
more into the teen years, with
the teen attitude, and a teen mouth,
I would have jumped on his statement.
I would have told my dad that God did
put holes in my ears, that is how
I hear!!
haha...
Good thing I kept my mouth
shut.
for the 4th day, working on projects.
Needless to say, nothing has been
getting done in the house.
I have dishes to put in the
dishwasher, fold and put
away clothes, pick up things
I have laying out from digging
around and looking for things
to work on said projects.
But Friday, I did get a couple
of things started and finished.
I have a couple I started but had
to sit aside for stain or paint to dry.
My spray paint dries better and
faster than regular paint when using them
outside with the temps and the
fact we had rain the night before,
so, it was damp out.
Here was my first project on
Friday to start and finish.
I am making things up to
maybe be able to be in a craft show
next year. My goal was set to do that
this yr. But my summer and stones
made that an issue.
My wood slats for these stars
came from a box of pieces a friend
down the road gave me. He late hubs
had a work shop, I went to get some
wood she was giving me and she had
this box of precut wood.
If I have failed to post how I feel,
let me do that now.
I feel good enough to work on
projects, and it has been a while since
I have felt like getting into crafting.
However, there is a side effect that goes
with me feeling better.
I can't control my mind. I think my mind
feels like I need to rush to get things
done before the cold of winter
sets in and sets off the fibro. The summer
being dry, and not so hot, really helped
hold pain at bay. But on top of that,
I want to do, I want to craft, I would
to make, I want to do what I enjoy.
Part of the problem with not being
able to control my mind is, I have a
hard time staying on task.
My thoughts and what I do are bouncing
off the walls.
I start something, go to another room
to get something or put something away,
and then I start something in that area.
Going back 30 mins or so later to realized
I had to finished. I have a craftroom (girls room),
in a total MESS.
I started in there a couple weeks
ago to make space for the shelving
unit I am going to put together for the
girls. That required moving things
around, which had me throwing things
in boxes, having to work on moving
my craft paints and arranging them,
but first I had to prime and paint the
unit the paints were going on.
After dealing with this, which side tracked
me, I just left the room a mess.
I moved my hutch from the living room,
and installed some shelves on the walls,
moved my Halloween stuff around
and got things set up, but with the
hutch move, I had to take items off
it, they are still sitting in my bedroom
floor and on the dresser. So that messed up
my room and yes, it is still a mess.
And yet, with all I have to do ,
I sit here and blog!!
Now, if you recall when I posted
about redoing the bookcase, I said I
had issues with my paint, it was thin
and not covering well at all.
Well, in doing Amber's end table,
I found the issue.
I picked up the gallon of "paint"
after priming with a 1/2 a gallon of
primer. However, I forgot that I had
primer in a gallon container and for the
first time ever, I bought a small container
of paint, which I left sitting there.
What I am saying is, you can't paint
something with primer and expect it to
cover well. Painting primer on primer
just don't work!
Update on the shed fall and hematoma
on the shin~
I still have some yellow bruising on
both sides of my foot but on the shin
the bruising has faded away.
The hematoma however just don't
seem to heal.
I read up on shin hematomas and found
out that most times, they require having
to be drained. Monday I was about to call
a dermatologist to see about having that
done, but read on.
A shin hematoma can also take
months to heal. With all the doc
bills I have going on right now,
I decided to NOT go to the doc.
I am watching it.
I spent the better part of the summer
in pants cause of the chigger bites
that took forever to heal (diabetic)
and ended the summer in pants cause
of this knot.
NEXT SUMMER.....
NEXT SUMMER will be better!
Thanks for coming by,
Pam

Love the crafts! I thinking working a year ahead is smart. You can go more slowly and have more fun. And rest when you are tired.
I know what you mean about a spinning mind. I look around and have all kinds of projects. The quantity overwhelms me and so I do nothing.
I was doing my walk this morning and ran my knee into my coffee table. I didn't say bad words, but you could hear me on the next block.
Have a fabulous day and week, Pam. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to the precious kitties. ♥
