Gnome, Past Rock Bed, New Rock Bed, 9 Weeks, Family, and Kitty Love

 Seems like feeling better
sure can have me jumping back
into what I like to do.

A friend gave me these gnomes,
unfinished, so I painted this one.
Now, I only have to seal this
baby so I can put it
in the yard next spring.

I have another one, tad more
detail on it so I picked the easier
one to paint first.
But I will have them both
ready for the yard come
springtime.

You prob remember me fixing
this section up.
I blocked off a good area by
larger rocks then filled it in
with rocks. I don't ever use little
rocks on my yard decor but around
here actually digging up grass, making
a bed, then filling it in with bags
of soil. This my friends, I thought
might be easier. At this point,
I am not really sure which is which.

But moving on with this part
of the post....
having a rock bed here was
not the best of ideas. I placed
cardboard down to kill
grass, covered with rocks,
put plates up next to the porch
and placed pots of plants on
the rocks. The plates are a cool
way of adding a back border.
But in this case, it was a fail
in this case. Weeds, not grass made
its way up behind the plates and having
the border rocks here made it
hard to ride the mower through
this area.

I decided that moving the rock
bed out where there is more
area, a better idea.
So, I made a bed on the other
side of the walkway. And here,
I can mow around it better.
I placed my lamp pole
in the center, leveled it up
and placed a pot in there, I also
placed a colorful plate in
there till I figure out where
I will end up putting them for
good. Removing them from the
porch will make weed eating
easier on those weeds that
come up in that area.

I will place a pot or two
in the spring but I hope to
have some more beds going
at that time also.

You see the corner of the house,
right in front of the porch there is
where the rock bed was, but to
use the rock again, I had to move
the rock. I had a blue large pot
that I would fill 1/2 way and slide
it across the sidewalk to pour in
this area. Oh, most important thing,
to really piss the weeds off, I laid
plastic!! Normally, I do not do that
on a regular flower bed cause the roots
have to be able to reach out and
spread out in the dirt. But since there
is not free standing plants being
placed here, no root room was needed.
Hoping the plastic table clothes
I laid down will do a good job.

Anyway, trying to make the yard
look good, but in the mean time,
make life easier for me.

Just in case the thought has not
hit you yet, read this...

Saturday night Amber and
Will invited me to dinner.
Burgers and fries.
Nice visit.
I was going to stay and
play games but I worked
outside on the rock bed earlier
that day and I was tired.
Finished that up on Sunday.

Evie, Hannah,
and baby Beckham who is waiting
his time to join us on
the outside.

Sunday morning mommy and
kitty loving.

As I was working on this
post Sunday evening, I had to take
a break, cause Misty needed her
mommy and kitty loving,
for the evening!
Now, I sit and watch her knock
the pumpkins off the table.
haha
is she going through the
terrible fours!??

Lily Bit is in her
regular place, the back of'
the couch.

Have you had any kitty loving
lately?

I do like the rocks and I plan on doing the same thing in an area here. I watched too much HGTV in the past with the lovely flower gardens etc. Most of the people who did that kind of gardening hired others to keep it up for them. I am done with that. It's either stock full of what's planted or put down plastic and rocks. I know here I will see a snake probably warming themselves in them in Spring, but I know how to take care of that. I love your painted gnome and love them in the flower gardens.

You wouldn't've known that the rocks didn't work in that area until trying it out. Now you know something important: make sure to have room to use the mower.

We tend to get kitty loving every day. :D And I think Misty has learned that some humans need to know that the earth is round. Those 'flat earther' folks are either insane believers or faking it for attention. Whichever the case, cats would knock everything off a flat planet and our world would obviously become barren. lol Best wishes to you and yours. And please take things easy, my dear. Okay?

He's all ready for spring. Well done. He's a cutie pie too.

I love your new home. We have a two story and I wish we didn't. It's what it is.

Misty is a love bug. That's our Squeaker.

Have a fabulous day and week, Pam. Scritches to the precious kitties. ♥
I need more rocks and less weeds! Hello sweet Misty! It's getting cooler here, there were six kitties in bed with us this morning.

I don’t want to think of Christmas yet. I have no shopping done this year though so I’d better think about it soon.
Aw! I miss having kitty lovin'. All my kitties have crossed over the rainbow bridge and now I have two very naughty, kitty chasing doggoes. My son and his wife have 3 kitties for me to love - all black. Like your rock garden and gnomes. Can't wrap my head around the idea of Christmas almost here. Where did the year go? Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog! Yes, still blogging, after all these years....x Karen
